Yes, each brand has a MAP program that specifies what you can do with their products.

That’s not quite true. In the firearms industry, it’s commonly referred to as MAP, while in the fishing industry, it’s called UPP. Most firearm companies are small, not big, professional-run companies. Even the bigger ones are not.
