On a never ending quest to continuously mess with my guns, or knives, or anything with a handle I'm regularly trying out things. I've tried talon grips (rubber, granulate and pro), Goon Tape, Howie's Hockey tape (regular, no stretch pro grip, and stretch grip, coban tape... you name it. So far the stuff I like the best is the Howie's hockey stretch tape. Really grippy, not bad on the skin for AIWB, really easy to wrap anything with, no sticky glue residue, cheap, love this suff. Anyway, just wondering what if anything others use.

I use wilson grip tape for tennis on some of them. It's tacky and a little squishy on the glocks for AIWB i don't like it too aggressive for AIWB. For my competition guns, I use skateboard grip tape or put on silicon carbide.

I’ve used (forgot brand) hockey tape, M3 granulate stair grip (cheap at He Depot and can do a number of pistols for ten bucks), and the granulate Talon grips that I sand the body side down on so that it’s less aggressive for being against the skin while AIWB. If all the ones I’ve tried, I like the partially sanded down Talon granulate one the best.

I'm actually in the process of designing a new brand of grips for the glock 43x/48. Doing a 3 piece wrap around (2 connected grip panels with 2 gas pedals) and a 4 piece design (2 side panels and 2 gas pedals). They'll have better coverage than the talon grips and better material than the handle-it grips. Looking to do a list of requested glock models next as well as a few long guns and bows.

Talon PRO. I'm not a huge fan of the confetti-like look in the black, but function > fashion, ya know?

I don’t see a purpose for the hockey tape, skateboard tape and Talon like grips I understand.

springfield mod 2.jpgI used Traction Grips tape. Covers the obnoxious 'Grip Zone' emblazoned on my beloved subcompact XD Mod.2 45 acp.

Handle it grips have been my favorite of the ones I’ve tried. They’re out of California too.

Talon Grips on my XD9. I'm fine with the grips on my M&P 2.0 and XDM Elite.

I don't use any type of grip tape or rubber sleeve on any of my guns! Of course, I've heard of grips becoming slippery after being drenched with blood, but I have yet to encounter that situation...

I bought a 6” wide roll from Amazon and would cut my own from templates I made. Mostly Glock and 2011. I got away from grip tape years ago as it didn’t hold up to continued use. Had to replace every few months. I now use silicon carbide and haven’t had to replace since I applied it. I like the feel better than grip tape. Better traction…

I used to use skateboard grip tape that I got for free from a local shop because they just hooked it up. I used an old template from the Talon Grips and cut it as needed.

I stopped running it because after a day or so and several hundreds of rounds later, the grip tape would just start slipping/falling off so I got tired of it. I stippled some of my personal guns and found it just beat my hands to crap after a few hundred rounds as well.

Now, when I’m teaching a class or shooting a bunch, I just use chalk and it works better than both of those options. Just my experiences.
