I can see more large corporations leaving California. It's easier and cheaper to do business elsewhere.

Those that have a physical presence here will re-locate corporate offices and ownership to avoid California corporate income taxes. Corporate officers and employees that follow will also avoid California taxes.

They will still pay operational taxes here on their remaining facilities.

Paramount has that large lot in Hollywood. They will keep it as it's paid off decades ago. Productions will still be made, whether by Paramount or other numerous film companies that rent there. High union crew costs may dip further into work done there.

Other states are aggressively working to attract Hollywood productions with low wages, non union crews and tax breaks. AI will cut costs with no need for sound stages, dubbing rooms, Foley stages, editing rooms, mixing theaters, etc. The new non DEI version of Homer looks great and costs $25,000 instead of $250 million for that Hollywood DEI version.

Hollywood will need to adapt or it will be further hollowed out.

I agree with a lot of this, although some of that circle of life subsidy also made a trillionaire, which Im not sure is a good thing. That aside, the system is Democrats today, and its the GOP tomorrow - different flavor; same poison.

This state and its rate of spend (on the wrong things) is moronic. So we have that as a baseline, and why would more taxes solve anything? It would just create pushback (like you mention) and continue the silly spending practices that exist today. That said, the majority of the state tax revenues come on the backs of people; not corporations.

The balance seems off overall, and while I can't stand the way we spend and make decisions in this state, the whole system (federal and state) pushes the tax burden downward to the people and we seem to think that if that balance is disturbed business will turn and run. We are conditioned to defend businesses who are avoiding taxes and then at the same time, resenting the state reaching into our wallets - which we indirectly promote in our defense of them not paying. The money is going to come from somewhere, so they punch down and take it from whatever can't fight back.

His businesses are doing as well as capitalism would dictate and their valuation and his stock in those companies adds up to a trillion dollars. To convert all that stock into actual money adding up to a trillion dollars would be very difficult for him, the company, the stock market, and the global economy.

90% of the time when a company "leaves" California, they're just changing the location its registered in but maintaining the offices and most of the staff. This is pretty apparent with Space X/Tesla since they've only shut down one office in CA when they opened another ... in CA.
