What pistol on the California roster gives you the most bang for your buck?

Oh yeah, whichever one you were fortunate enough to own magazines for already or those which you were smart enough to purchase magazines for during Freedom Week in 2019.

For me right now it’s the Staccato HDP4. It’s a do-it-all gun that has a steel frame and comes with a lifetime warranty. It’s a premium-enough pistol without the premium price point of say, an Atlas. Can use it as an EDC, duty, or simply a range gun. Buy it once and it will outlive you as long as you take care of it and it’s backed by a lifetime warranty.

The HD p4 sucks compared to the P. HD Is a POS series 80 pistol galvanting around like a wannabe 2011. The stick trigger is not great and the grip is terrible because it needs to accept glonk mags. Also idk who the F- is carrying a steel frame pistol for EDC with a full mag of 17 rounds but you are asking for issues. That is way to much weight to carry around..hurts my low back thinking about it. Also at 2500 plus taxes plus commie 11% it is a rip off.better off buying a real 2011.

Coming here, obviously. The thread is about guns on the roster. And the reason we were talking about new S&W pistols is in the context of why would turners have a sale, someone suggested new models coming to the roster.

Did you get an HD but didn't work out as expected?

The response was "new models coming".
Nothing was mentioned about them being on-roster.
It always takes a while for companies to roster new models so there's no way to even begin to guess which models they will roster or when but that has no effect on the ending of production and closing-out old stock.

I also imagine that at Shotshow next year Staccato would slap a shorter grip on the P4 that takes G19 mags and call it the P4C

One of the advantages of a modular platform is that variations can come out quickly.

Probably going to get flamed for this, but if buying new, not PPT, the newer on roster pistols offer the best value IMHO because they are simply newer designs with the latest features and are optic-ready. I'm thinking of the Canik METE MC9LS, Hellcat Pro, P365XMacro, PDP, and even though it isn't optic-ready, the M2.0. The VP9s are still too pricy compared to the aforementioned pistols for me to say they are a good value. Don't laugh, but the Taurus GX2 is a pretty nice gun for the price. I'd take it over a Ruger, FMK, or Hi-Point any day.

If you are buying used, then Gen 3 Glocks, especially the Glock 22, for $300, is a great deal. Used XDs, the PX4, and the SP2022 for around $300 are great deals as well. That is, if you shoot them well. I could never get the hang of shooting the XD and SP2022 for some reason. And I'm a firm believer that most people can shoot any gun well if they put enough rounds through it. Case in point, I've gone through enough ammo over the years that I can shoot a stock Glock 19 like it's an extension of my arm just as accurately as any tricked-out steel-framed single-action with an RDS. I just never cared enough to spend the ammo shooting the XD and SP2022 to get good with them. Especially since I'm already competent with Glocks. I'd rather just put more rounds through my Glocks to keep my skill with them sharp.

One of the few guns that I picked up and shot a bullseye with the first shot was the P365. And that's why I sold a few oddballs like the Shield, SP2022, Kahr CW9, and XD I had. I sold those to get two 365s. That gun is just really easy to shoot accurately for me. Like an extension of my arm. Even though I do notice that it does have more recoil than a Glock 19, it still shoots so accurately.

If I had to choose one on roster gun to say it was the best bang for your buck, new, it would be the P365XMacro. No doubt. That's the last new gun I bought, right before the 11% tax went into effect. Well, mine was the standard 365 as the macro didn't come out until after the tax went into effect. But I quickly converted it to a macro.

Polymer guns manufacturing costs are a joke compared to what you pay in the end. Take for example a Glock. It is only about 75$ in total manufacturing costs.

I bought the xmacro through a PPT because it was at a really good deal intending to resell it. I couldn't believe how accurate I was with it. The seller had put a Hogue rubber grip sleeve on it and sold it with 507k. It will probably be one of my last guns I ever get rid of.

Those rubber grips make a nice difference. I just can’t for the life of me get it off, but it makes it feel way better.

I do think for the price the Rost Martin offers the best bang per buck on the roster. You get everything you need in a nice profile, optic ready.

I’m saying this even as the sponsorship just ended so a bit sad but it is a good gun and I’m looking forward to their next versions plus you can swap slides for comp as well

It took me a while to get one on my Glock 19 gen 3 because of the finger grooves. But I had to try it because of the way it feels on my Xmacro.
