My current gun collection stands at about 9 guns in total. Pretty small arsenal for a Californian. Its a mix of multiple pistols in different calibers, to a shotgun and a couple of rifles.

I am on the lookout for my first revolver.

Whats a good one that should be included into ones collection in general?

Would appreciate any feedback. Thanks.

I don’t think anyone could answer this since you didn’t give any qualifiers on what it would be used for or why you want to buy one. Or a price point which can vary drastically.

Still has to be on roster. Revolvers are outdated and pretty much only good for nostalgia these days so unless you’re buying just to collect and say you have one I’d save the money and get more ammo.

Not for anything specific. Doesn't have to be iconic like the colt python or something small for a ccw. Just a revolver that you believe would be good to have for ones collection in general. They do have their pros and cons but this is just a nice hobby of mine.

Unless you’re scared of black bears in which case only a 500 magnum will do.
I lowkey fell into a rabbit hole for the Taurus Raging bull for the 500 magnum lol. A bit overkill for a city dweller. But i would get one of those if I did have "F- you" money.

Just get a 357 magnum then you can shoot 38 special or 357. Something big enough that it’ll actually shoot the full house loads without being a miserable experience. Smith and Wesson Model 19, 686, Ruger sp101, Colt Python, etc

You wouldn't go 44 Magnum?
Feeling lucky punk?

get a 586 or 686 and be done with it, its the best standard revolver out there, closely followed by the gp100

22lr!

The best "addition" to a good collection is a 22lr revolver.

It's cheap, fun, easy for kids, woman and grandparents to shoot and goes BANG every time!

You can get from a single shot "key chain" to a full sizes 10 shot S&W 617 and everything in between.

For "FUN" shooting, 22lr is the bet round out there.

Matt

686 plus 5 inch bits 7 rounds and feels great in hands even mine I’m like 5’6 and got medium sized hands kinda wish I had one instead of my 627 pro series but I got it in a raffle so

You’re not wrong but 22s also don’t count so just pick one up along with the 357.

Ruger GP100 .357 Magnum. It is a tank and you can shoot full power .357 through it all day long.
