man they did really F- this up though, if you look at the optic ready version they are using a plate that retains the iron sight and it would indeed take the space that the LCI is in. Meanwhile 10 other companies have figured out that you can make a tiny lci that doesn't interfere with the plate or even better stick it on the extractor. These companies really shouldn't keep these guns a surprise until after they are on the roster, they should advertise them so we can tell them how they F-ed up ahead of time.

Agreed, that's the very thing that has kept me from buying some rostered guns such as the Sig MK25. Can't stand those obnoxious LCIs that stick out the top

I'm somewhat agnostic about it if it doesn't interfere with function but making it like the 226 or this wilson definitely interferes with cutting it for an optic which is annoying as hell. The 226 was one of the first to have it though and it's particularly ugly. You definitely can't buy an extra Wilson slide to get rid of though like you can with cheap guns that have it.

Devil's advocate moment, but if we rag on companies that bring things to roster despite the relatively slim pickings we already have, then we only disincentivize them from pursuing it even further. Mayhap better to let them bring things to roster, then let them figure out a price cut or street price slash on their own.

Not that it's on roster, but DD H9 was $1.3k for just the blaster, now it's $1k and comes with a free optics plate. Just as an example. Maybe even a good one, since they are an example of someone that still has no incentive to support CA beyond churning out milquetoast low-effort AR-15 offerings to this state.

Eh, yes and no. Overpriced is overpriced. There is no reason at all a Stacatto should cost $3k+, those are production handguns that should be closer to the price of the Platypus or Prodigy. Wilson Combat at least has some hand fitting done. For what it is, the price isn't that bad, just not something I could justify getting, especially with proprietary mags that are limited to 10 here anyway. I'd rather get their CQB model that's on the roster, or SSE a Platypus or XP Pro for half the price.

Unreal. It’s pricey to get Wilson to do the cut and takes them about 6 weeks. This pic shows a RMR HD on my gen 1 EDC X9. That unfortunately doesnt actually work because the optic overhangs the ejection port and causes malfunctions. Changed to a 508T (? Or something like that)

There’s gotta be some issue with the LCI on the extractor because pretty much only HK has done that. Altho wait…..isnt the Stac HD that way too? Seems to be the obvious solution? Dunno

No optic cut is still sorta the “norm” with the Wilson’s and Nighthawks “stock”. It’s always extra for the optic cut

I am guessing we will see optic cut version of this sooner than later

I paid extra for the optic cut on my nighthawk, but they clearly had space for it. No such planning seems to have happened for this new WC offering. Too bad. I’d think about getting it with an optic. But this actually makes me like the new Staccatos better. And I didn’t like them very much.

I don’t know I wouldn’t make the assumption that there’s no way to put an optic cut on there. But it’s more that you have to send it in to get the cut. Because as we all know for them to bring an optic ready version, they have to resubmit to the roster.

That LCI is not too bad. But if you send it off to be milled for a red dot, whoever does the milling can probably just delete the LCI to make room for the red dot. The LCI just has to be there to be sold as new from a dealer. It doesn’t have to stay there to remain legal.

I just noticed the obnoxious warning engraved on the left side, though. That kind of sucks.

one issue if the optic cut deletes the LCI is that some IA will require it to be there. Mine would. For my IA if the gun came with LCI and mag safety it’s gotta stay there. The inspector actually seems to go through the trouble of finding out if the gun originated with those or not. I had to reinstall my mag safety for my p365 to pass inspection.
