Just make sure you don't mention not being able to access the site, or you'll get trash talked into oblivion for not trying 15 times throughout the day and knowing the specific time slots the site will work. It's clearly our fault for trying, lol.

Getting the gen V would be a slap in the face. I'd rather have the gen 3 with no magazine disconnect or large LCI.

The only thing the gen V does better is front slide serrations and interchangeable back straps, but I'd rather forfeit those than have a magazine disconnect. Even if it's easy to remove, a lot of IA's don't allow modifications/removal of safety features. A larger LCI could make parts compatibility an issue with aftermarket slides and barrels. It's also not optics ready for any of the 9mm models, and lacks the upgraded texture of the gen 6.

Imo the gen V here in CA would be worse than keeping the grandfathered gen 3 due to added nuisance safety features. Both models would need to be milled for optics, in which case you could just add the front slide serrations to a gen 3 while you're at it. Interchangeable back straps are the only thing you can't add to a gen 3, but it's not really worth the headaches I mentioned.

It would appear Glock attempted to save the gen 3s by simply changing the trigger mechanism to the gen V, but they messed up by submitting a gen V for testing which is not currently on the roster. Apparently the CA DOJ required a current rostered Glock to be tested with the retrofitted new trigger mechanism. The deadline has since passed and Glock is meeting with the CA DOJ to try and work something out.

I think it's a crisis of leadership on all levels: public or private sector, federal government or multi national corpo, city manager or small business supervisor, we have a generation of leaders that aren't experts in anything. They all fail us, and they all fail to meet the moment. Do we blame Glock, do we blame California, or do we blame a lack of leadership in their inability to come up with solutions?

i agree with you completely. would much rather keep the gen 3 over the gen V. as far as the LCI is concerned tho i always figured it would just be the extractor since even on gen 3 it slightly protrudes when a round is chambered. i figured they can just add a bit of red paint on the inside of it and/or some text. mag disconnect im assuming would be something with the trigger and not the frame and glock triggers are super easy to replace so i never was too worried about any of those features being added. only issue would be some peoples IA’s not allowing modifications or removal of these features. but yea definitely agree that gen V coming here would be the ultimate slap in the face.

They may need to make the LCI larger than they have been since the text on the LCI has to be a certain size, hence why many CA compliant LCIs are so large and obnoxious.
