All valid points, but putting lots of rounds down range and not taking particularly good care of his firearms is a good testing bed for problems to show up. Whenever there is a problem it shows up quickly and he seems to not have any issues with sharing. The 2k11s do get good reviews all around but Ben has zero technical knowledge of firearms and whether it's actually good beyond the fact that he put a bunch of rounds on it and he generally liked it. It's not nothing, putting a lot of rounds on a gun is meaningful, but he can't tell you why it's good which is a better metric of the fundamental design being good or not. The guy is a shooting savant which means he's pretty retarded about anything else to do with the technical aspects of the guns themselves.
lmao that's like my best friend, top 0.01% world level pro rider but not great at instructing and can barely explain anything mechanical about motorcycles. I'm only a couple levels better in that areaThe 2k11s do get good reviews all around but Ben has zero technical knowledge of firearms and whether it's actually good beyond the fact that he put a bunch of rounds on it and he generally liked it. Well, I'm hoping my source is wrong and the 2k11 pop on roster tomorrow. Was just hoping others in the know might be able to chime in!On IG they said they passed testing for California. Then they started sending them to vendors.
Anyhow, just gonna leave this here:
**P211 GT4 & GT5 IN STOCK CALL OR TEXT**
Every new guns purchase gets 10% off parts and accessories.
I also have a bunch of the P211 GTO comp slides on order which will drop right on the GT5 (the comp will be fixed for compliance)
I am a small dealer but am a SIG Master Dealer and have a decent amount of these on order and can always get more.

yeah but he can't tell you why, so how would you even know if it's an actual issue with the gun or an issue with the shooter? When he made that video about a Fowler that wasn't working he was literally using basepads that do not work with that magwell (staccato basepads in a cheely magwell). we still have no idea what was wrong with the gun, but a lot of people think it's garbage even though we have no idea, and Ben somehow has no idea how to do one of the most basic and fundamental tuning operations on a classic 1911 extractor to try to fix the gun. Extractor tuning will be necessary on EVERY 2011 at some point, that's why atlas has videos about how to do it so that maybe they won't have to do it for you. Conversely if you think that the guns he rubber stamps will run for 50k rounds without changing springs, potentially having to hand fit a new extractor, tune your sear spring, tune your magazines, take your magazines apart and scrub them when there is any minuscule amount of dust makes it into the magazine, you will probably be very disappointed. 2011s are awesome but they are temperamental and require a lot more attention than any other platform but you wouldn't know it from what Ben says he's even said that they require LESS maintenance than CZs which is freaking asinine. It's just bad information. But the free training videos are great lol.All valid points, but putting lots of rounds down range and not taking particularly good care of his firearms is a good testing bed for problems to show up. Match last month at sac valley which has deadly dust, I dropped my barney mag during make ready, I bend over to pick it up and my primary mag that I had just on my magnet then falls off from my gut pushing it off bending over. I was the last shooter of the day so I just went and definitely had some feed issues off of that first mag. Dirt in the magazines is real.My 2011 Extractor will never need tuning. One of my 1911 extractors broke, replaced it with w Wilson and it did need tuning, fortunately it was fairly easy.
I also clean my guns after every range session, regardless of round count. May seem unnecessary, but it helps to avoid any issues as a result of dirt/grime etc.
If a 2011 mag hits the ground, it gets taken apart and cleaned. Those small dust/dirt/sand particles like to stop them up in a hurry. Found that out quickly when shooting matches at clubs with fine dust/dirt.
Friends don't let friends buy a Kimber.
What’s this about gen 6 hitting roster today. I’m preorderingThey do

Yes, yes it is!But that's SIG P211 not Kimber 2k11?
My Prodigies are fantastic and that makes them “good” in my book. They keep up with and don’t print scores less than my SV or STI. I’ll take you up on your offer. Where’s your shop at? If you’re in LA you have a deal for a Prodigy officer at MSRP.I should have been more clear. Any good 2011
I know a guy who knows a guy that claims Kimber is requesting all of the California 2k11's that have been sent out to be returned...
I've had my share of Kimbers, which were crap.
I can barely change my wheels , never done basic stuff like change a chain before still but I do have the tool lol. Sucks racing without a dedicated mechanic or some help once you get to a certain levelhe ain't workin in the pit lol
My dad's Kimber 1911 seems fine... goes bang, it's blackMy first Kimber was a jamomatic that would also regularly fail to fire. I can't tell you how many times it was returned to the factory. At one point their little customer service bįťçħ suggested it was my fault and I should take a shooting class. His name was Sergio and he only got his job because he was dating Leslie Edelman's mom. Today he's the night manager at McDonalds and turns tricks at a truck stop on the weekends. Eventually Kimber said they couldn't fix the gun, so they offered me another model... if I paid the difference in the MSRP. To summarize, I got screwed harder than Sergio on a good weekend. Not long after this epic failure, Kimber discontinued my gun. Apparently I wasn't the only customer who needed to take a class in order to shoot their gun properly.
The other issue, more about aesthetics than functionality, was Kimber's finish. They don't use Cerakote, Tenifer, Nitron, or any of the proven gun finishes. They use "KimPro," otherwise known as Kimb-oleum. It's only slightly less durable than the clear coat on a 1984 Pontiac, and it flakes off about the same.
Clues about their gun's quality can be found at the Kimber Forum. People thinking of buying their first Kimber should go there first. The majority of the new users were new Kimber owners trying to figure out how to get their guns to run reliably. The general consensus was that Kimber's are made to exacting tolerances, so you have to run 500 to a 1000 rounds through them in order to get them to run reliably. I could never figure out that logic.
Lorcin, Raven, High Standard, Kimber... you can keep them all.
