The 2k11s do get good reviews all around but Ben has zero technical knowledge of firearms and whether it's actually good beyond the fact that he put a bunch of rounds on it and he generally liked it. It's not nothing, putting a lot of rounds on a gun is meaningful, but he can't tell you why it's good which is a better metric of the fundamental design being good or not. The guy is a shooting savant which means he's pretty retarded about anything else to do with the technical aspects of the guns themselves.

lmao that's like my best friend, top 0.01% world level pro rider but not great at instructing and can barely explain anything mechanical about motorcycles. I'm only a couple levels better in that area

yeah but he can't tell you why, so how would you even know if it's an actual issue with the gun or an issue with the shooter? When he made that video about a Fowler that wasn't working he was literally using basepads that do not work with that magwell (staccato basepads in a cheely magwell). we still have no idea what was wrong with the gun, but a lot of people think it's garbage even though we have no idea, and Ben somehow has no idea how to do one of the most basic and fundamental tuning operations on a classic 1911 extractor to try to fix the gun. Extractor tuning will be necessary on EVERY 2011 at some point, that's why atlas has videos about how to do it so that maybe they won't have to do it for you. Conversely if you think that the guns he rubber stamps will run for 50k rounds without changing springs, potentially having to hand fit a new extractor, tune your sear spring, tune your magazines, take your magazines apart and scrub them when there is any minuscule amount of dust makes it into the magazine, you will probably be very disappointed. 2011s are awesome but they are temperamental and require a lot more attention than any other platform but you wouldn't know it from what Ben says he's even said that they require LESS maintenance than CZs which is freaking asinine. It's just bad information. But the free training videos are great lol.

Match last month at sac valley which has deadly dust, I dropped my barney mag during make ready, I bend over to pick it up and my primary mag that I had just on my magnet then falls off from my gut pushing it off bending over. I was the last shooter of the day so I just went and definitely had some feed issues off of that first mag. Dirt in the magazines is real.
