Anybody else also thinking of getting out of 45 ACP?

This is my first revolver and I'm surprised I haven't learned about this model before. It looks like the dirty Harry model 29 but shoots very softly. The moon clips make it very easy to reload too.
I think it’s that huge N-frame (same frame as the Model 29 in 44 mag). Couple that with 45ACP and it’s a sweet shooting revolver!!

Moonclips: FWIW I’ve had good luck with EZ Moon Clips

If I had to do things over again, I’d probably just stick with 9 mm. That is mostly driven by my developing arthritis in my hands in my 50s and thinking that there will be a day .45 ACP might be too painful; not too bad yet. To date, I have still shot more .45 ACP than 9 mm. Love the cartridge but age rather than ammo price is causing me to shoot it much less than 9 mm. I won’t sell the .45 ACP pistols I own though. I don’t have an all steel one so I “might” get a 1911 long slide with brass grips to see how the recoil feels.

I am 9mm until death but 20 years ago I purchased my first 1911, a Kimber TLE II. Sold it a year later. Recently picked up a RIA Pro Ultra Match FS and then an SA TRP Operator Full rail.

Had some 45 ACP guns in between, Glocks, HKs. All gone now.

I think you should always have at least ONE 45 ACP and at least ONE 357.

Yep, sold my RIA 1911 a while ago. Bought it because I wanted a cheap 1911. It was neat, but I began consolidating on logistics. I might end up buying a 1911 in 9mm later on
Update: I caved during my Birthday and put a deposit on a Springfield Armory GI-Spec 1911A1 and Beretta 92FS. The grip felt amazing. Might treat it more as a range gun than anything, lol.

Great design, tight tolerances. A keeper.
I love my EMP! Not sure about Jimi’s experience. I had a 1st generation which needed to be serviced by Springfield because of FTF issues known in the 1st gen. It’s great now.
Agree with Jimi and chiroken. The EMP is a good pocket rocket. I’ve had no mechanical issues over 2.5k rounds. The rear sight seemed a tad off center out of the box (annoying!) but was easy enough to adjust at home.
