Anybody else notice the price of ammo keeps creeping up lately?

I did get an email from target sports that price will increase before April 1 a couple of weeks ago, TIFWIW.

Dad lives in Oregon.
Visit for Turkey Day and Black Friday is a major plus.
Gas $$ but get free room and board. 🥳

OLD "not current price" local California Sportsman Warehouse sale so add 20% = 24 CPR out the door in CA.
They also have "buy more save more" +10 box = 5% off = 23 CPR out the door in CA.

Cabela's had Federal 9mm Black Friday = .19 CPR after rebate = .23 CPR out the door CA.

Ammo seek website isn't showing anything below 23.5 CPR for 124 gr factory 9mm, and it's not even the premium brand.

I'm glad I stocked up on ammo last year and I bought another 2 cases earlier year.

Like I said- it’s almost not worth it-

You didn’t factor in the cost of the case or at least first case and your time/effort. You are 20 cpr with subpar powders and projectiles(spending time scouring the internet for deals). Reloading 9 isn’t worth it for me even at 18cpr. , Think big like 30 cal- 50cal loads.
IMO, scouring is underrated.

I was busy making holes yesterday or I would have posted this before they ran out:

20CPR 9mm shipped

Keep an eye out, they may get it again, they often do! :D

I don't know anything about "American Munitions".
I don't have anything against "American Munitions".

However, there are enough horror stories of "ammo from manufacturer you never heard of blew up my gun" that there is zero chance I'd buy this stuff.

They are careful to say they are not reman. OK, so they are buying new brass. I seriously doubt most of the problems with reman is "bad brass". It's gonna be overall poor quality control. Double charges, over seated bullets, wrong primers, etc.

Do I KNOW that AM is guilty of these things? Nope. But y'all can test this stuff, not me. Recognized name brands (except Winchester) for me or nothing.

Surprised Scott didn't post it here, he did share on reddit

It seems like we're getting price increase notices every couple months now. Looks like the cycle of low ammo prices are swinging back up now. I realized that my definition of "stocking" wasn't adequate. Instead of storing a year's supply I should be keeping enough for at least 5 years. Looks like I'm going to have to make some purchases once things are back in stock and before it goes up anymore.

Absolutely. Looking to find 1000 rounds of (basic range ammo), 9mm for less than $300 here in SoCal!

Look into getting a FFL03/COE, it'll save you a lot of money and hassle when buying ammo. Currently able to get it for ~24 CPR OTD from TSUSA.

If not Route 66 battle packs are typically the lowest prices you'll find in SoCal.

Thanks, im quite a ways from Barstow but Ill give them a call to check prices and might make a trip out of it.

Get an FFL03 and shop at velocity ammo. Free shipping over $200 and no tax. Best deal on bulk they have is 124 gr igman at $240/k. Federal 115gr $245/k.
That is how my friends stock up and I can goblin their brass when we have range days. Might upgrade my Mark 7 Apex 10 to auto drive this year. But with anything best to just stockpile if money and storage allows.

No tax can be a pro or a con depending on how your look at it. Just thought I'd point it out as it's often brought up.

Out of curiosity, what would be the con? I usually see it being thrown out there as a favorable thing for Velocity Ammo.
