Law Appeals Court Blocks California’s Background Checks for Ammunition Buyers - (7-24-2025)

And here was I thinking this thread was dedicated to a legal issue regarding ammo delivery.
In keeping with the anti constitutional practices of the CA political establishment, it depends on who the legal authority you are dealing with interprets and enforces the law. Which is why some choose to exercise precaution and others not so much. This is the price we all pay when anti gun 🍌 lunatics are at the helm. In this instance however, only one choice has the potential for negative consequence.

After weighing all the pros and cons, I’ve decided to cancel my July 25th order. I don’t want to stay stuck in this gray area, especially when it feels like half the country is just waiting to throw me to the alligators and strip my kids of their citizenship before shipping them off to some prison in Ecuador or wherever. In a different situation, I would’ve kept the order — but as it stands, I’d rather not take unnecessary risks. Besides, I’ve already got enough of a stash to defend myself if it ever comes to that.

It's pretty 💩ty that you have to feel that way, I don't know what is happening to America.

I have zero problems with statement. I don't understand why it needed to go into immigration debate
What news sources do you recommend?
YMMV but let's start with anything except this 3

Genuinely curious, where do you get your "facts"?
I don't really have a set place. I go to one of the few news aggregators and kind of go from there.
I make certain that every so often I venture to NYT, Daily Cos , Fox News to get different points of views but generally stay out of big names.

But MSNBC and View are beyond pale. Never. It is as bad as modern Tucker Carson and arguably worse.

I read stuff on substack again trying to read from both left and right.

My 2nd reply to this, you really got me thinking. We're pure blooded Sicilian in this household, both families have been in the country since the 1850's, my side even fought in the civil war on the side of the Union. As Sicilian, the whole family is pretty dark skinned. My son who was valedictorian of his high school class this year and will be attending an ivy league school starting in a couple of weeks (proud but now very poor Papa) he likes to wear a Chicago Bulls hoodie (he's a big Bulls fan, for the life of me I can't imagine why) when he is out and about. Recently he was rousted and detained by a stupid cop who threatened to call Ice when he was out with his buddies getting ice cream, (I've seen the pictures) all because he was dark and wearing a hoodie that the cop said is associated with being a gang member. Things are getting way out of control.

Start with 1440, and go from there. I recommend signing up for the daily news emails, too. You’ll quickly begin to see the difference between fact-based news, editorialized information, and outright agenda-driven propaganda .
Never heard of 1440, what is it? Are they accredited journalists?

Unfortunately this is part of the human condition, which is why disproportionate law enforcement reactions will always be a factor, more so when the lines between legal and illegal are as blurred as they have become in The State of CA.

Never met or spoken to anyone who relies on The View for news, I don't think they claim to be journalists, do they? I've seen some straight up crazy 💩 on Substack. In general it's really difficult to weed through all the slanted bull💩 and just get to the facts. I've found Axios, The Hill and Stratfor to be quite reliable with reporting facts and also the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. Sometimes the facts can make your team look really bad or really good but, I'd rather have the facts than bull💩 propaganda.

Not just California by a long shot. Stupid governments, stupid cops and stupid people are everywhere in the country.

No doubt. The legal system, or lack there of in CA, just makes things exponentially worse. This is one of those places where a life long law abiding citizen may potentially wake up one day a criminal, depending on which way the wind blows.
