FFL's that do PPT's for $47.19

This is a very important point that should be factored into any gun purchase. I would never DROS a gun anywhere that does not release on undetermined. It would be the first question I would ask the dealer.

If they get inspected by ATF, they will do a inventory and they will need to see the gun. That is true and so just telling the ATF the gun is in there might not cut it (pardon the pun). I usually don't open guns until the customer does even though we are supposed to look at the serial number. On a PPT, I do not have the time or energy to take your gun out to the range, you know completely ignoring how wrong that is. At the end of the day it is a PPT. If you are that worried about me taking your gun out, go PPT somewhere else. I have always found those people kind of funny. Assuming you would ever end up in my no where town during my crappy hours. I try to treat PPTs well because if you do that, they will buy something else or return.

And with that, you can put Westside Arms as $47.19 for PPT with $10 each additional gun and no other fees except FSC if you do not have an exception. I simply provide all guns with a lock so there is no additional cost or paperwork (I hate the safe affidavit). And we release on undetermined.
Thanks for confirming. No one said anything about being worried about staff will take the gun to the range. If you read my previous post, I was speaking about my point of view as a consumer doing a PPT with a unfamiliar dealer with all 3 employees working voiced that they have never seen or held an Atlas in person. At that time, it was my 1st time spending that much money on a pistol so I think my worries that they would check out my pistol, rack it a few times out of sheer curiosity were reasonably valid. Those things are harmless, I know. But I don’t like it when it comes to my expensive pistols.

It all depends on the situation.
Example A: I’m buying a VP9 tomorrow at a local gun store via PPT. Do I care if they rack it or check it out? No.
Example B: I’m buying an Atlas via PPT @ Kovert which is one of the biggest Atlas dealers, will I be worried about staff racking and checking out my gun? Absolutely not because they’re a high end store that only sell high end guns and my gun is just another gun.

It’s all relative to what gun we’re leaving and what kind of store we’re dealing with for the 10 day wait. You get my point.

There’s OCD people like me, whether dealers like it or not, we do exist - that don’t like our precious expensive pistols being touched by anyone else except ourselves. That said, we’re still consumers and spend a lot of money so if one of us OCD folks show up at your store, I think it’s a better business practice to tell us “don’t worry everything will be alright” instead of “go PPT somewhere else if you’re worried about that”

God bless

I do them for the 47.19. Its an extra 10 bucks per gun if you have more and if you have several I need to know ahead of time so I can schedule that block of time or have you in on a Sunday when im usually closed to make the transfer.

I ususally will give you a free gun lock if the gun doenst have an OEM one with it. I dont have storage fees after the 10 days.

I dont release on undetermined due to ATF serioulsy advising me not to and my Liability insurance wont cover me if I do and anything happens.

Does anybody have any recommendations for FFL's in Simi Valley or Thousand Oaks?
That take walk in PPT's and just charge the $47.19.
Thanks for the heads up, guys. If you got any more places, please let me know.
Greta's Guns - Simi Valley
Praxis Tactical - Thousand Oaks
Camarillo Gun Store - Camarillo

Sorry, I was just talking in general and not specifically you. Your last paragraph is spot on. The best thing as a dealer is to recognize all customers are different and there are very picky and anal types. Just take care of them. However, from a business perspective, some people are not worth the hassle. As you mentioned, it goes both ways. So in general, if you are super picky and demanding on a PPT, is it worth the $10? However, I say that from a perspective of not touching your gun for ten days in general because I just do not have any interest in it and it isn't mine to show off. And what would the point be? I cannot sell another one like it, it isn't on the roster.

I am curious who you use for your insurance. Did they put it in writing they won't cover you? I am also curious what the ATF has to do with your insurance or California state law. If my insurance company told me they would not cover me for lawfully delivering a firearm to a customer the government would not say they couldn't have their gun, I might change insurances. The last thing I would do is listen to an ATF agent that does not know a damned thing about state law or insurance claims.

However, that is just me and good FFLs rely on other FFL's restrictive policies to keep them in business.

Just finished a walk-in PPT as a buyer @ManzanoMunitions in San Jose. Verified $47.19. I was in and out the door in 10 minutes. It was my first time there and Alex helped us. Will come back

Was it a walk in or did you have to make an appointment for the PPT?

I can vouch for 29 Outdoor Gear in American Canyon. Just completed a walk-in PPT yesterday as the seller. Worked with Evan and he got us done in 30 minutes. Considering he had other customers in the shop plus phones ringing, the guy is an efficient multitasker. $47.19

Under California law, gun shops are restricted on how much they can charge for doing a private party transfer. If they do it right it should come out to $47.19. But I've gone into shops that make me buy a lock, charge for credit card use, charge for storage (this hasn't happened to me but to someone else), or some other charge. I know under the REVIEWS tab we have a list of FFL's that we like. But I'm talking just by price, which FFL's do you know of charge $47.19 for a PPT? You can throw in some bad one's to avoid if you'd like.

PPT: $10
DROS: $37.19

$10 is a loss for the store. Doing the transfer and pickup cost more than that.

Unfortunately FFLs supported it when it was proposed because they though it would force customers into their stores.

29 Outdoor and Solar Tactical are my go-to shops for PPT, quick, painless, no grief given.....$47.19
I always make a point to make a purchase, even if it's just some cleaning stuff or a magazine, just to show some appreciation.
29 Outdoor raised their price to $100 as of 9/1 according to the sign on the door.

Coyote Point armory in Burlingame was 47.19 plus a lock and a few dollars for CC processing. They were super apologetic about the extra costs but as someone explained further up neither of those add ons are actually their fault.
