Still applies, but people have freedom week mags.

As an FYI, I believe rimfires are exempt from the AW feature bans, so you can run a .22lr AR without a fin grip or maglock for example.

It does to most, but look up tubular magazine fed rimfires. Marlin model 60, all (most) of the 22 lever guns. I admit I haven't looked at that in a long while but I don't believe it's changed and you can still buy them with the big tube mags. (Or maybe an original Spencer with a mag extension to hold more? )

Correct, for rifles. AW laws apply to pistols whether rimfire or not so be careful to set up your 22lr AR pistol and Ruger Charger in legal configurations.

Just bought a HK MP5 .22LR (Umarex) and I can burn through 500 rounds so fast, just plinking away! Super fun gun! Any suggestions on other fun range toys?

Colt SAA (clone) in 45 colt.

50 rds is a lot, probably half that would be satisfying enough at one range trip.

Hearing the 4 clicks of the hammer as you it, the boomy recoil, handling “big bullets”, it puts a smile on your face.

My decked out CZ 457. I absolutely love this gun. Crazy accurate and ridiculously satisfying to shoot because of how accurate it is. Shooting a .22LR at distances of 150 - 300 yards is quite the fun challenge. It’s also a cheap gun to feed so I can get lots of trigger time.

I always wrap up my range day with some 12 gauge clay shooting. Its so freaking fun imo shooting at something that is like a frisbee and then disintegrating the smack out of it. Always puts smiles and laughter on faces everytime.
Everyone has a different budget but id recommended a soft recoil gas system 12 gauge that is semi-auto like a Winchester sx3/4, berretta a400, benelli super black 3, Remington 1100, etc. Inertia shotguns are amazing as well Pump shotguns just kicks the shoulder too hard for clays imo and isn't pleasant.
