Just one man's opinion but I think the Glock gen 3 is probably the most overrated firearm in history. Yes, it's ultimately reliable, but it's like shooting a cinder block. Nowadays everybody has the striker fire polymer guns down to a science so reliability really is not an issue. Ergonomically there are far better firearms out there for the same price or less. Give me a a $400 XDM elite any day of the week over a $900 used Glock gen 3 in the classifieds

Thats the way i feel about them too but most of the glocks.Sure they are reliable but so are many other newer guns.Way more options these days even for you guys in ca.

Never having had the opportunity to actually hold or dry fire a gen 4, 5 or 6, my judgment is being made strictly off of the Gen 3 glock. I'm sure the new ones have much better ergonomics and feel so much better than shooting a G3.

I mean it will definitely sell for the lower price and quickly lol. With how the market is right now I think even $550 would move relatively quickly, people pick up any reasonably priced ones fast its the $1k+ that sit indefinitely.

Guns are investments and glocks are the Toyota's of the gun world. So before you could never buy them again I recommend you pick up a cheap gen 3 off the used market. Preferably my ad where I have one reasonably priced at 1.2k........

Now I hope you don't think I'm serious. But there are definitely better things on the market. Glocks will eat just about anything including range floor ammo but that's about it.

The Gen 5 G19 at $1300 is priced more in line with where a Gen 6 G19 would be. If yours was MOS/optics ready at least $150 more.

Realistically your G19 is probably worth around $900 - $1000 in the current market, which is likely why it has not been getting much interest. If you're looking for a trade, a 43X is in the appropriate value range w/ your G19.5.

Not a single Gen 3 model is selling close to $1000. It's fake news that keeps repeating here by Glock h4t0rs. If any did sell at those numbers it was likely during the strongest market conditions back in Jan/Feb 2026.

Paying $1,300 for a $500 gun is stupid. All these off roster Glocks are just paying the police pension fund that we already pay into. It's completely ridiculous. If you have $1,300 to spend on a plastic 9 mm there other options out there and you could get two of them and have change

I have held and looked at the newer ones gen 5-6 at local stores i just dont like the feel in my hand still.Trigger felt ok but definitely not as good or crisp as my canik.Some people they fit them good though just not my style.

I kind of just have normal size hands and I still find that to be a bit small because of the blocky design of the glocks. I definitely like the way walthers, s&ws, and sigs feeling my hand far better than any Glock. And from what I've read the canik has wide support for being one of the absolute best striker fire triggers out there

I think there is stippling as well as an undercut trigger guard. Maybe slide serrations I haven't even bothered to look. Don't know if any of the angles of the actual grip itself or changed or identical to the three and four. If I lived out of state and I could buy one for $550 I would have absolutely no qualms about purchasing one and giving it a whirl. But people are sniffing glue if they think I'm going to pay California off roster prices. That's kind of like paying top dollar for a fat prostitute

Who knows but it seems odd that Glock wouldn't get a Gen 6 on roster even if it takes a while

The litmus test is simple: before anyone starts seriously talking about a Gen 6 roster path, we first need to see a Gen 3 return with Gen V internals. That’s the next logical step not Gen 6.

If Glock can leverage existing grandfathered certifications and bring back a Gen 3 based gun with updated trigger internals (in this scenario they don't need to deal with CLI and magazine disconnect) why would they rush to introduce a Gen 6 that would face an entirely different set of roster hurdles (drop tests, cruciform trigger compliance AND CLI and magazine disconnect).

Until that happens Gen 6 is a long way off.

As for Gen 3 pricing ignore the wishful-thinking listings. Gen 3 frenzy peaked last Feb.

I’ve got a couple Gen 5 Glock 21’s. Happy the finger grooves are removed. Other than that, I can’ tell you a noticeable difference between my Gen 3 Glock 21 (where I paid someone to remove the finger grooves and laser in matching texture to the stock texture). I’m completely indifferent to optics as I prefer irons but I know there were Gen 3 slides available by Glock that had optic mounting capability at some point (maybe an FBI order overrun?).

I don't mind a reflex site or a red dot on a rifle where I have a cheek weld and my head doesn't move, but I've tried to get used to optics on a handgun and they just don't work for me. Much prefer iron sights like yourself

3/4/5 all feel about the same. Gen 6 is different in hand and firing, still don’t like them compare to my VP9’s or p365’s.
