Kimber has a bad rap but I've read many testaments to their reliability. Was there a big QC improvement in the last decade or so?Maybe it's a matter of different strokes for different folks, but I've owned two Kimbers and they were both rock solid. I don't like their magazines which tend to pinch my hand when I slam them in, but if I had been able to mount an optic on my Kimber Custom TLE/RL II, I'd still own it. Never had a jam or any other problem with it and even with only iron sights (which are a challenge for old eyes like mine) that 1911 trigger could put the bullets right where I aimed it.
