One of the reasons I like buying local is I can actually handle the gun before I buy.
I don't see anything indicating they will do that other than wild guesses. That would probably hurt them. Unless they are giving up competing against Kimber and Sig and going for the ultra high end only market..... which is again just conjectureThink about it. Reduce the number manufactured after cutting out dealers. Raise the price to cover operating costs plus profit and you do that year on year.

Staccato as a company is the product of Nathan Horvath who is essentially a finance guy that bought STI and made it into Staccato. They have a brand new factory only a few years old and a rapidly expanding lineup. This growth was built into the brand and this is likely just a modern business tactic, the company can't just take what it gets it has to actively grow to be able to pay off the investment. Nothing like this ever results in a better product though, does it?Can't help but wonder if this is a precursor to a sale of the company or if it's just a move to try and maintain their grip on the 2011 market which is quickly becoming saturated with offerings from many manufactures seeking to enter the game. Personally I think there's enough of a market to go around for all but Staccato has enjoyed great growth previous and may now feel itself being squeezed a bit by others seeking a "piece of the 2011 pie"
I do wanna say that I really enjoy my earlier Staccato purchase (singular) and have no regrets. This does not upset me to the point where I regret my buy. But it may affect future purchase considerations.
Yeah the mag compatibility is huge. That will save me hundreds and hundreds of dollarsif I really want a 2011, I'll probably get a Sig or Kimber. Pretty sure both of those will be in stores eventually. I'd rather have the Sig that uses P320 mags.
Well that scratches STI off my list
