Hello. I'm a relatively new enthusiast from San Diego area. I've been a casual shooter for a long time but inherited a few of my father-in-law's guns (mainly .22 caliber) and even as an older guy want to learn and enjoy the sport and the freedom to do so.

I found this site by seeking out different venues and it was AI that actually pointed me here. I recently also joined a Colt forum as one of the guns i inherited is a unique 1950's Colt .22 handgun so hopefully a good variety of avenues to venture down. I also plan on joining a local gun range/club North of San Diego.

I look forward to learning and progressing in this as a hobby.

Hi, I'm Andrew. Just got back into shooting late last year when I applied for my CCW and really got back into it the last few months. I really got more into shooting after joining the military at 18, and was training a good amount until I got out and got crushed by all the new CA gun laws and didn't have time or money or desire to shoot. I've only done one civilian class years ago in San Jose, outside of military training and a CCW class but it was pretty fun. Got to see the world and now ended up in Sacramento somehow. Dad was a scout sniper, Navy nuke, now the Executive Director at Stanford University, both little brothers joined the Navy too, another Navy nuke and a ATC; for some reason I wanted to be a spy and joined as an Intelligence Specialist. I work as a private investigator now, civil and criminal cases.

So far, I have had to use my CCW twice already. Pretty wild, posted about it.

Newish member here. Been lurking around in the classifieds area for new aqusitions. I purchased my first firearm about 10 years ago and added a few more over the years. I am actively looking for a rifle but keep an eye out for other pieces that may suit my needs. Since I am here, I will be reading up on other firearm related stuff such as training, safety and enforcement even legal issues that come along with the ownership and use of firearms. While I understand that a web forum is not the best place to get legal advice, it’s more about trying to absorb as much as I can and try to separate the good information, from bad. This is only a hobby for me, although it could be a practical necessity at some point in my life, even though I hope I never need to NEED what I have leaned. Looking forward to learning whatever I can absorb from this site and excited to be a part of this community of likeminded individuals. Living in Ca has its pros and cons but I am born and raised here so I don’t really know any different. I vote for what I believe and live within the laws we have to live by.

Checkout the Walther PDP Compact, P365 is also nice but you lose the capacity benefit if you don't have "freedom week" mags

I would recommend HK but idk if any are on the roster anymore in subcompact. I carry a P2000SK
