I've added a profanity filter. This is enabled by default. You have the option to disable it if you want. This works the opposite direction.

I think it's silly to be offended by words on an internet forum, and have always thought that beeped out words on things like tv, podcasts, and songs was ridiculous as it just draws more attention to it.

But for those who are, now they don't have to see it.

Playing "devils advocate" here. Why is it important for people to be able to curse in online forums? I dont see an issue expressing viewpoints without cursing. Also dont see how being free to curse has anything to do with gun culture or masculinity. This discussion seems like a tactic to test/push the boundaries in this forum and turn it into the unhospitable drama-laden atmosphere of the dying calguns.

There's nothing inherently moral about limiting one's vocabulary.

But when one has to squint to see what’s in the emoji, like are the corners of its mouth turned down or are both eyes squinting or just one, they take up more time to figure it hem out. In my experience, they are a complete waste of time.

Well, the younger people work in slack and discord and many speak multiple languages as mentioned. Older people wouldn't understand unless you work in a modern company. Emoji's are understood around the world, think of them as a standard set of symbols. It's perspective, if you don't like it don't use it. We like to give options here.
