Here’s my oldest handgun. It’s a WWI Izarra made for the French army by a Spanish manufacturer. It’s the long barrel version in 7.62 mm/.32 ACP. It has sweetheart grips my father made for it. The photo is of his kid sister. My father didn’t have a wife or girlfriend when he joined the army at 19 and went to Italy to kill s. He was in the first wave of soldiers who landed on the beaches of southern France. He was later wounded by shrapnel and recuperated in a field hospital.

The gun will go to my kid sister when I die. She’s married, has children and she’s a gun enthusiast. She also reloads. I know they will be treasured.

She will also get my father’s other guns. A 1934 model Beretta my father picked up in Italy and carried with him when he landed on the beaches of Southern France. A Luger he obtained for 35 dollars after he returned from the war. (See my avatar.). And the Monkey Wards 22 bolt action rifle he got when he was about 15.

Beretta 1935 in 32ACP, the WWII Italian side arm for Italy's Navy and Air Force (their Army got the 1934 in 9mm Corto/.380).



I'd rather have a 1911 in 45ACP LOL!

This is what I found in general, the deeper you dig, the better you'll find. It took me a week to finalize my knowledge about my 1891 revolver.
