1. Preparing to invade Cuba
2. Declaring martial law to disrupt the midterms

Not sure how they’re connected but I think it infers instigating protests and using that as an excuse to declare martial law

I've heard these rumblings for several months now but I do listen to a lot of NPR so there is that -

All kidding aside, the left has been saying this for quite some time. I think to encourage turnout and raise money.

I'm not sure what basis it would be declared under unless there is widespread civil unrest after Halloween

Read a funny article the other day.

1. Little kids are barred from social media in some states (can't pass age verification).
2. NPR comment section starts getting filled with random comments that have nothing to do with the article's subject matter ("fml. broke up with gf", etc.).
3. NPR originally think it's bots due to the odd nature of posted comments, but investigates further. Hires Gen-Z investigator.
4. Investigator discovers that the comments aren't coming from bots. They were real people (kids) trying to find a place to communicate.
Kicker: When asked how they decided on NPR as a kind of social media "hub"--they said they just hunted for a low traffic, dead/barren platform to use.

The apparent trick was simple, children too young to use conventional social media or unable to access it were seeking out low-traffic podcast comment sections where parents and teachers were unlikely to look.

Glass tracked down one of the young users and asked why NPR had become the venue of choice.

“Um, I think we just looked for podcasts that didn’t have many comments,” the child replied.

“I see, so you picked NPR because it didn’t seem very popular,” Glass said.

“Yeah,” the kid replied.

Politics swap every few years, as its almost impossible for a single party to be in control for so long without anything bad happening. Americans are incredibly sensitive to the price of gas, food, and the economy in general. What ever happens in November will have very little impact on us as it takes months for a ripple in the economy to fix itself regardless of who wins. While I wish California gas was 3 dollars and houses were affordable we are stuck in this weird bubble until it crashes 2008 style. As of now I would rather worry about having enough of a nest egg saved up for an emergency or buying the wave of guns and magazines when the supreme court kicks in AWBs.
