Seeing Glock Gen 3s on here going for $700+. What gives? AB1127 hasn’t been enacted yet

I've owned a CZ 75 BD 9mm for a very long time, and, have also fired many Glocks. Never fired one I liked. Not one. I like the Hammer. In my opinion, CZ's are the best hand gun in the world. Never have been a fan of Glocks and never will be.

Handguns are so personally subjective. I despise both the aforementioned not because I think they suck, but because they suck in my hand. I shoot well with guns that some absolutely hate like the 92 or a large frame revolver. It’s all about how it feels and what you can do with that feeling.

The law only applies to handguns that accept an aftermarket rear plate which allows the gun to run full auto.

Unless aftermarket rear plates which turn the gun into machine guns come out for other makes, then those makes would fall under the law as well.

I don't think any of the non-glock designs use a connector like a glock does that allows a simple switch to be made which defeats the connector.

I've only experienced G17's & 19's 3rd generation and never seen anything like that on them. Why in gods name would anyone want to convert a pistol into a full auto, even the US military after trying it called it a failure and that was years ago.

If they are trying to get all their money back then that’s what they ask. And if the given model is OOS then if you want it, you will pay.

In the old days, when we had the 1 in 30, the ppt was exempt so a little bit of value in no waiting.

Which indicates $600 for a new PP G17, 19 etc. is a realistic price

You probably haven't put enough rounds through one. I'm a fan of many different guns, but if you want to shoot them all well, you have to spend money on ammo.

I don't think asking $700 for a nib G17 is unreasonable - I just don't think the buyers are that plentiful at that price.

I'm amazed at all these guys saying Glocks aren't worth $700. I've owned a lot of guns and lot of very high end guns. If I could only pick one hand gun it would be Glock. Go try and run $4000 Staccato even a little bit dry and see what happens.

Wouldn't this new law effectively ban all striker fired handguns? I think would also ban any transfers, so there wouldn't be a secondary market. I could be wrong.

All great guns but I sold all of them and just kept my Glock 26 and 34. No issues with them and they run. Why am I spending 3000-8k on pistols that I shoot the same accuracy with a 500-700 Glock. Right now I’m buying every Glock I see in 9mm $400-450 range
( Glock in every room is the goal)

That being said I fine Glocks to be standard “Cali” pisto, outside I would say CZ. CZ is the only pistol I would swap my Glocks out for. But people selling p10c/f for 1500 and it’s a 450 pistol.

Unfortunately paying up for CA non compliant models appears to be the norm. Obviously the actual selling price is what the buyer is willing to pay.

Turners has the Gen3 G17 on sale for for $520.

Using their normal price of $550 and adding 20.75 % (Los Angeles sales & excise tax), the pre-DROS price is $664.

Unless it's just really super convenient, why would anyone spend more for the pre-owned (NIB) G17?

The $700 seller has to be telling his wife, "Look, I've got it up for sale, but no one wants to buy it. The economy really sucks right now."

95% of that grips looks atrocious. The other 5%? Gotta be professionally done by a nationally reputable smith.

As someone who put way too much money into my P320 I can say yeah, it really sucks when you put way too much money into a pile of you know what....

(a) As used in this part, “machinegun-convertible pistol” means any semiautomatic pistol with a cruciform trigger bar that can be readily converted by hand or with common household tools, as defined in Section 4082 of Title 11 of the California Code of Regulations, into a machinegun by the installation or attachment of a pistol converter as a replacement for the slide’s backplate without any additional engineering, machining, or modification of the pistol’s trigger mechanism.
(b) A machinegun-convertible pistol does not include a hammer-fired semiautomatic pistol or striker-fired semiautomatic pistol lacking a cruciform trigger bar, which instead has a trigger bar that is shielded from interference by a pistol converter.

I think would also ban any transfers, so there wouldn't be a secondary market. I could be wrong.

27595. (a)on January 1, 2026, a firearms dealer licensed pursuant to Sections 26700 to 26920, shall not sell, offer for sale, exchange, give, transfer, or deliver any semiautomatic machinegun-convertible pistol,
(c) This section shall not apply to any of the following:
(3) A private party to private party transaction conducted through a licensed firearms dealer pursuant to Chapter 5 (commencing with Section 28050).

I'm guessing if AB 1127 gets signed by Newsom the local CA FFL's would have massive price reductions on all Gen 3 Glocks. In order to liquidate all the inventory, they have on hand before the law takes effect, and they can no longer sale in CA.

There only other option would be to sale to out of state buyers. And they would be competing against Gen5 Glocks the only way to compete would be to sale the Gen3s significantly cheaper than the Gen5s. So, they might as well just sale them to us in CA while they still can.

What are your guy's thoughts on this?

Really, CZ 75. That's the gun your going to put up against a Glock. A gun with slide so narrow you can't even put an optic on it. A slide design that where you basically have nothing to grab to even do a proper press check. Ask me how I know.

At one point I owned seven CZ pistols. I owned multiple Shadows. I owned versions modify by Cajun Gunworks and CZ Customs. They have all been sold.
