If I was caught by surprise, I'd stay in my home and get a few arms in each hand of all family members based on what I believe they can handle and what I have available. AR-15, AR-10, bolt action, pistols, Ruger 10/22, etc

If I had some kind of advance notice. I'd just load up the truck and head out of town until it's safe to return. Guns and ammo would be coming with me. No way I'm wandering the streets thinking I'm going to one off every attacker before they get the bead on me

Yeah I had a friend say "I heard they're coming to Simi valley" and I reminded him that that was about 40 miles from the actual march.

My thought on the PCC was if it's truly for suburban SHTF, 9mm is less likely to go through your neighbor's wall(s). As many have said, community is more likely to insure survival that outright arms, so protecting those around you from accidents is also important. If I was just trying to protect my suburban property I wouldn't need hundreds of yards of range.

Still slowly collecting. This e is expensive! It will take some time to get everything, including upgrades. Also, I would love to have a barrel in 5.56.

I also have a 9mm PCC with a linear compensator for indoor defense so we all don't go deaf and the rounds don't go through wall after wall. Lehigh ammo is nice, but I think subsonic ammo would be good, too. Tinnitus sucks.

It takes time for LE to get to where we are, let alone the Guard. I would basically try to get my family and neighbors to safety, or stay put/nearby if that would be the smart thing to do. We live in a tiny, close-knit community. We look after each other, which I appreciate.

I can also attack with gas. All I have to do is feed my dogs hard-boiled egg yokes. It might violate international law, but it works!

Kinda where I'm at if the whole thing goes South. I've been planning my "collection" around what my family would (hypothetically) need to protect itself, should something untoward happen. Whether we shelter in place or move out to our backup location, I just have been trying to ensure everyone has at least something.

My general, plan is to be setup for iterations of shelter-in-place and bugout. Rinse/repeat. I don't really need to change much with my initial HD strategy so next is getting as much info as possible. If I have to move I want to be nimble, able to move on foot if absolutely necessary or safest or fastest available (reminds me that I need to pickup a dirt bike).

Comms and recon strategy:
- Need the ability to reconcile what's happening around me vs. what we're being told
- Get to and/or consolidate with loved ones close to me and who are in my plan - I told some that they're probably too far away and need to come up with a plan of their own
- In general, I want to figure out as quickly as possible whether we should shelter-in-place or bugout, and which direction is safest

Shelter-in-place defense - the only thing I'd really add here is perimeter defense:
- AR-10 in .308
- visibility out to 200yds in any direction
- Setup barriers to close off points of entry and funnel potential threats
- I don't want any threat getting within 50yds
- GMRS comms and setup antenna to get out to 10 miles
- AR-15 in 5.56 soft point and pistol as secondary (same for bugout) for CQB
- I'm going in with the expectation that any shelter is temporary until I have to move again so not putting too much energy into stockpiling

Bugout
- Move to handheld comms hopefully 5mi or so along with NOAA weather radio
- AR-15 with red dot and magnifier also carrying 1-8x LPVO separately
- supplemental 100rds of match ammo for longer distance but optimizing out to 200yds
- Glock 17 secondary, all stock except for upgraded duty trigger - not my favorite pistol but durable and most likely find parts in the wild
- short-barrel pump (that I can bungee to my pack) for blowing open locks, and drones that get close enough
- Maybe some NV gear if I can find some light enough
- traveling somewhat light, being ready to walk if I have to
- serial conflict avoidance only moving in the direction of "safety"

I've been a manager/supervisor in various types of food processing my working career. My style of management was to try and gain the trust of my workforce, who inherently didn't trust management and rightfully so. As much as it's politically incorrect, you can't brush aside race. Being the eldest and Filipino, it was generally easier for me to instigate.
Anyway, I was chatting with an older black guy 50s, whose mom sent him to Stockton 25 years before our talk, so he wouldn't get killed in gang action, which I learned from another escapade. I ask him one day what would/could you expect to happen if there was a big quake that trapped the LA folks in the valley. He said the unwritten rule would be for the youngsters, minors, to attack all the PD substations so the main crews could go wilding after banks and jewelry stores, but not Korean. He said the Koreans would throw down.

I built a 14.5" AR years ago for civil action. Daniel Defense barrel, pined linear compensator, lightweight BCG with adjustable gas key, 3 Oz tungsten powder filled buffer. 75% power buffer spring. MFT stock with rubber stopper, Sparrow grip.

Glass is an Aimpoint C3. The rifle is very light and a soft shooter.

I have my ar15 exactly set up for something like this ready to go. I also have an AK 47. I would also use my 8mm mauser or mosin nagant to penetrate body armor.
