Lots of things I do not drink. On occasion, this...

Bourbon, gin, and wine are the top three but tequila and vodka are runner ups. Bulleit is our go to for bourbon and Hendricks for gin. For wine, there are too many options out there but it must be red and no where near the two buck chuck quality.

As a point of stupid pedantic trivia, the spelling of Japanese whisky omits the 'e', and the same is true for Scottish and Canadian whisky.

Irish and American whiskey-makers use the 'e' spelling variant.
In Dublin a few years ago, the tour guide at the Irish Whiskey Museum told us that was the Irish merely being contrary to the Scots.

Tour guides are known for their colorful anecdotes.

Currently have all of the above choices in my bar. Wife's current go to is Buffalo Trace although I'm a Gin/Vodka guy.

There's a class action lawsuit making its way around alleging that 18-year aged Flor de Caña rum is labeled with the number 18 above the words “slow aged,” the product is a mix of younger and older rums with a purported “average” age of 18 years.

Coupled with the documented working conditions at their facility, their whole operation seems sketchy.

If true, it sounds like what Ron Zacapa (Guatemalan) does with their “23” rum. Tasty, but not 23 years old, haha!!

I’ve been drinking Flor de Cana since when the only way to get it was through my wife’s family (she’s from Nicaragua). Been to the distillery, and the family knows several people who work there.

I’ll just say that the working conditions there are better than most employers in Nicaragua. If you’ve ever been to Nicaragua, that’s not saying much, haha!!

All I know is the “18” is great!!

I've sampled a lot of expensive booze and...maybe I'm just not on the financial level for it, but there isn't a single 100 dollar bottle of liquor around that can't be damn near approached by a bottle one third the cost. I keep a couple bottles of Blanton's around and buy an expensive-ish 50-100 dollar bottle of bourbon every several months but I've not found one yet that is "worth it" to me. No lights shining down from the heavens and singing angels when I take that first sip. I'll keep trying though, because...why not? It's just money, I'll make more of it.
