Hello,

I just did a couple PPT's and was asked both times what my occupation was. (never heard that one before)

What business is it of the DOJ to ask what I do for a living and why is it a requirement to do a PPT?

Matt

I can almost guarantee all of this will be scanned by AI and unrealistic ones will be scrutinized more. Is just food for thought from if it were me operating it. It’s not my fault, guys. I’m just trying to give you a heads up. Good answer is just the industry or high-level because they already get your pay stubs. It’s the state, bro. They work with Palantir

I understand but what's the reasoning for them requiring this information?

Would scanning AI put you in a "different category or on a list" depending on your answer?

IMHO, yes, because it’s different from what most people would answer. Only smart asses would answer something completely unrelated, so you pop up because AI looks for differences and similarities, and for the most part, many jobs will be actual jobs and industries or very general professions. My assumption is the state would move to AI processing instead of manual processing for DROS applications because you don’t need an actual person. If it were me designing a system like this, the 95% which is pass fine, so the rest who make jokes will stand out, and their application gets kicked to manual review. Unless everybody does it, then that’s the norm. My guess is that they wanna reduce the headcount and standardize the form. and see who’s actually buying from what socioeconomic group.

I hear you but I meant more by the actual profession than a fake answer.

Would a Farmer, a Machinist and a LEO get put in the same or different categories and why??

Matt

the cost benefit analysis of lying on a government form if anything ever comes up is not worth it. be generic but dont outright lie. "contractor" is what i put

Male gigolo.

In all seriousness, who really cares? It’s not like the state doesn’t know where you work. Answer truthfully.

The CADOJ will look for any reason to take away your right to own guns. Lying on your DROS seems like a good way to help them with that.

Knowing California, the DOJ will likely share your occupation with the FTB just to cross-check your income and squeeze every last tax dollar out of you.

I was thinking more along the lines of asking "Why isn't your occupation the same on both documents and why didn't you declare any of your income from the occupation listed on your DROS?" To them, you've under-reported your income and/or filed a false tax return, both of which can be felonies, giving them the right to take away your right to own firearms.
