Who has deleted their social media today?

Remember the good old days when people were downright giddy about Nancy Pelosi's husband having his skull caved in with a hammer? I remember that clearly.

On the other hand, do you remember the huge outrage on the right, in June this year, when a Minnesota state senator, her husband and her dog were all assassinated and another senator and her husband suffered an attempted assassination, all by the same perpetrator? Yeah, neither do I.

I don't recall much outrage about this from the same kinds of sources who are so angry about anyone joking about CK's assassination.

There have always been people who react to events like this in ways to draw attention to themselves. There’s an expression for that but I can’t remember it right now.

Sometimes it just gets ignored, others times it generates outrage. Right now, with Charlie, almost everything that is in support of the murder is generating outrage, as it should.

But what hasn’t disappointed so far is all of the conspiracy theories and false reporting.

It seems there is absolutely no reason to let the truth get in the way of a good story.

I would encourage everybody to take any post with a little skepticism. And I don’t think any source should be viewed as 100% reliable as they have all been known to jump before looking before.

You're correct, ironically you have you're perpetuating your own narrative. Then say we're over moderating, when we try to tell people we don't know what the truth is yet or go ahead and believe what you want. Its America. I honestly don't care if you think the world is flat, as long as you don't try to convince me.

I infrequently will bail on a social media account. Once a month I go back to posts I've made here and there and delete any whose pur[pose was served or I think could bite me in the ass if I had to blast a criminal.

I don't do social media, except for a couple of forums like this one. Never have or will.

Social media for me has become an invaluable news aggregation resource. When people post links to true news articles from reputable sources like The Hill, Just Security, Stratfor, The New York Times, the Washington post, just to name a few, it allows me to use the SM site as an index for the News. I don't give a about the opinions or the memes and the disinformation but, having a daily news index is invaluable.

Is the term you're looking for: "Attention seeking behavior"?

It's my opinion that Tyler Robinson was not an attention seeking criminal. The earmarks of such behaviors are not there.

IMO, Robinson was outraged by Kirk's behavior and that is his right, whether his outrage was justified or not is a different discussion. Unfortunately, he allowed his human instincts to get the better of him and he resorted to violence to silence someone who he was outraged about.

As humans, without the impending threat of punishment, we intentionally kill and injure each other. When we are given "permission" to do it on the field of battle, many of us jump at the opportunity, some with relish. A lot of police do this as well. Many think they have the authority to kill even though they do not unless they or other members of the public are directly threatened but, with the brotherhood of police frequently covering for each other, especially if there is no witnesses or video, a lot of civilians die needlessly at their hands.

Warriors are allowed to kill, police get away with killing and injuring people needlessly and frequently but, the average citizen is expected to curtail their instincts and some of us are just incapable of doing that.

Yeah, I'm gonna do a ton of house cleanin across all of my platforms. I like everyone here in the California 2A community, no matter your political preferences, too much to let online talk get in the way of talking guns.
