Went back to my old forums to take a look out of curiosity. Yep, same BS. Their echo chambers thrive. No wonder doctors say social media is damaging to your mental health. lol.

I like everyone here in the California 2A community, no matter your political preferences, too much to let online talk get in the way of talking guns.

Seems like you get what we're trying to do here. Some people have a hard time understanding that others don't make politics their personality. Politics is just one aspect of many, athletics, family, spirituality, religion, whatever floats your boat.

This site is for Californians, it's populated by Californians and some former Californians. Californians lean left, we're trying to get them to lean a little to the right, so they'll vote with us. Instead, people think its in their favor to speak condescendingly and complain. Then wonder why the state keeps going in the direction its going. There's more non-2A than 2A. What they know of 2A isn't reality, but guys who make our purpose harder by reinforcing stereotypes of right wing nuts who hate them with a passion. It's counter-intuitive.

People who focus on the problem, only make the problem worse vs. actually trying to build a bridge and train people to see the safety aspect. 2A CAN recruit more people who lean left, but not with hardliners. We try to make it fun, engaging, and educational, with real life events. Then you have keyboard warriors come in and wreak havoc. I've started to be more aggressive with thread bans on people who push too much of a political agenda (left or right). My patience has worn thin with that. It costs me too much time by distracting and slowing down the other things we have coming up. I actually have quite a few things coming too. In terms of upgrades and new documentation.

A smart, coordinated, uncorrupted, and authentic populism is needed in this country. Someone that can unite us around our common economic foes that like to divide us: George Soros, Peter Thiel, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Mark Cuban, Michael Bloomberg, and Jeff Bezos... to name a few. They just need to get taxed into oblivion, and social media unwound into MySpace level. I would create a profile for each one of my guns, and place them in order of preference on my friends list. Tom would still be #1.

I get labeled all the time by those on the left and right. Depending on what I tell people. I am a registered independent. I mostly vote Republican "when I vote", though I have voted for others. I believe Social Security should be increased, Medicare should be free and include psychiatry, dental, and drugs. No co-pays. We should take care of our old, just because they ARE Americans. I believe there should be a basic health care package, free, to every provable citizen, and probably permanent residents. No one else. Co-pays are negotiable. And you should be able to buy better health care packages if you have the money. The border and immigration should be controlled and only those who can be a benefit to American society should be let in.

I believe completely in the RKBA.

Trans should be able to live their lives without fear and with societal acceptance, but shouldn't be able to use opposite sex facilities unless they have complete surgery and are completely, physically, male or female. Science has proven that trans women are still stronger than cis women. They still retain lung capacity, etc. and they shouldn't be allowed in cis women's sports.

Conservatives will condemn me for my stance on SS/Medicare and trans, liberals will condemn me for my stance on illegals ad trans. Some would call me a closet , some would call me a right-winger, some would call me an American Extremist. Others don't know what to call me. Yet, most people will not want to civilly discuss the above opinions. It is just easier to pick a topic and condemn me for it.

I don't know, I am pretty much done with "society". Who is John Galt.

It wasn’t personal, I’ve never even heard of DU or LGO until you and another person repeatedly kept mentioning it. I think I saw it once on CGN too some people saying the same thing. I still haven’t been to the websites. Maybe some are here from there, there’s plenty from CGN Reddit FB, and now word of mouth.

Seems like most people don't realize that the majority of posts they read on x or reddit are likelywbeing generated by bots from various countries including our own who intend to generate such outrage and intolerance that the majority of the population are fractured and politically incapable of achieving any cohesive standards for their own government.

People cracking jokes immediately following some notorious violent event is a tale as old as time. It's actually cathartic in some ways for people to have a joke in times of violence, upheaval, or even tragedy. Post 9/11 there was all sorts of this as with many other events.

It's tasteless and crude, but it's also human. Saying there are wide spread celebrations that this happened is a red flag that you're an individual deeply consuming the media of divisiveness. There are no "celebrations". Most people with varying political opinions simply don't care. There are internet posts in the online media you consume complaining about celebrations.

The real thing noone seems to be talking about is that we've used highly sophisticated algorithms and a steady stream of propaganda to create an entire generation of people so apathetic and steeped in memetic internet subculture people have no idea what they're even talking about anymore.

If you're trying to frame this discussion in terms of left vs right you are simply so distant from the reality of youth brainrot internet culture you can't even comprehend what's going on anymore. Conveniently the fact that you're all focused on this and not that the government is rapidly mobilizing the biggest domestic police force in history, circumventing almost all privacy standards across multilateral law enforcement agencies that previously required court approvals. Seems like the magnitude always increases but the vector itself remains on the same trajectory. Whatever sales pitch is working on you right now isn't working for everyone, but you'll smell the coffee in due time. Everyone will.

^ agreed I'm pretty conservative and if someone wants to dress up like a woman, that's their thing. The problem is when they start mandating others to participate in their exercise in stupidity.

If you show up to work one day in a dress and start demanding everyone calls you Janet, don't expect us not to laugh. I’ve never made a social media account of any kind where people can look you up and find you, friends, family, etc. If you’re worth knowing, we stay in touch the old fashion ways.

I am a member of a couple of other forums that deal strictly with my hobbies, this forum is the only one I am on that even mentions anything about politics, laws, etc.

Every other hobby forum is strictly dedicated to the subject matter.

I don't believe there is anything "social" about social media. If anything it has eroded our ability to be truly social with people in its intended form as humans. It's normal to have friends relationships etc come in and out of our lives, but now on social media people have 1362 friends in facebook for example. I dont think it's healthy and the diversity of those numbers gets more broad the larger it is, so you'll find out more about differences than similarties. And we all know people tend to lock in on differences especially these days and critique them. It's not normal to maintain that type of relationship and personally it's maddening. Do you really want to waste a year of your life over a lifetime reading posts from people you knew for a few years as a kid, or met on a trip once, or met at a party cause it's a friend of a friend? I sure don't.

Build on the quality people you have truly IN your life now. Hang out with them. Talk with them. Call them. Get a beer together, grab a burger together. Sit on the porch and talk about some problems you're struggling with in your life over a coffee with those people. Build real relationships. Speak with a neighbor. Then do the same a couple weeks down the road. Quality over quantity is a much more fulfilling life, and that's not just in the person or relationship but the interaction as well.

Both removed.. Matter resolved. Again, reposting propaganda is different from a reaction gif. The reaction is still a personal opinion, but reposting cherry picked political messages created by a political group is not even close to the same. One is generic, the other is an opinion created for you.

I hope you see the difference.
