WTF happened?

Are the bases of the screws still inside? hard to tell from the pic but it looks like they backed out and are completely gone? If they just broke then there should be broken bases still. Are the threads stripped?

So took my X Macro to the range in Sac today and the dot sheared off and ripped itself apart! Range master and a few others could not make sense of it. Range master 3 10rnd mags prior. Last mag, when this happened, I was double tapping & this 💩 happened. Any ideas? Definitely taking it to my local gunsmith but im lost as to how!!
what optic was it?

Just read up on this and that sounds like what may have happened.
If it was that, please contact the optic manufacturer so you can use your warranty and make sure you have receipts and all that. If it's a big optic manufacturer like Vortex or Trijicon, you'll be well taken care of.

Will do appreciate the info! I just bought the optic less than a month ago

It makes sense and would carry the force to cause this. I didnt see any damage to the barrel, feed ramp or slide which throws me off a little. The sight took all the damage
I think it launched the CLI and that is what took out the optic. That is made from steel and would be hard enough to do some serious damage.

Out of battery detonation. It blew out the LCI and took the optic with it
What happens if the optic wasnt there? Lci hits you in the face with that much power? Or does it fly in the other direction?

They force us to have that crap on our guns, sounds more dangerous.

Im not buying whatever is being sold here.

Get the video from the range and dont tell me they dont have video rolling and have insurance.

What remaining evidence is there for us to examine?
The pictures show screw holes with no screws in them. The threads are not torn out, and there are no remnants of screws left in the holes. The ONLY explanation is that the screws walked out. How they loosened and fell out cannot be determined from the pictures provided. How did this happen? Your guess is as good as mine. Be grateful it didn't hit you in the face.

So, OP, you going to name your optic or is it safe to assume you bought something off Amazon? Lol.
No issue saying I bought it on amazon..CVLIFE red dot $140..Ive been running my irons from day 1 & wanted to see if i liked running a dot before I drop $300 on a quality one..Whats your point?

Very true! Some metal hit my range glasses and if it wasnt for those one of my eyes would have been done dada! OOBD is the only logical explanation. Idk what else could have caused this tbh
