Did you use the hardware that if came with? Cheap optics cheaper hardware.

The damage to finish on the outside of the hood makes no sense. Either the optic came off while RTB and your double traveled through 50/50 over/under/inside/outside the right side of the hood or this optic was intentionally destroyed.

Yes but if the hardware was cheap and it backed out or sheared off that wouldn't have ripped the sight like that..
I don’t know man. It’s an airsoff optic with airsoft
hardware. Could have been an OOB, hot load, god doesn’t like you.

Out of battery detonation. It blew out the LCI and took the optic with it
The very obvious ruptured case would have been recovered and he definitely would have noticed something completely different about that round going off. Hand slap, mag ejection, cracked frame, powder burn pattern etc. Still doesnt explain why his lci is missing.

I'd lean more to end of barrel squib where both bullets exited prior to catastrophe but still destroying the lci and optic but without a culprit case and no additional feedback to the shooter is suspect.

Was tbe LCI in the gun to begin with?

yea with the damage i def can see that being the case.
but a tilting barrel pistol?
i guess if it did happen on a browning action the damage would could be like this.

A 4-48 screw is very close to m3 size, its 6 thou less in diameter and 3 less threads per inch. If this was used by mistake it could thread in but with pull out under pressure. A p365 cant oob discharge, a squib wouldn't cycle the action and those would all probably damage the extractor. That or the screws were just crappy and out of spec

All the bags are labeled so I checked the required screw size prior to install. That being said the manufacturer could have mislabeled the packaging.

whatever it is the screws came out instead of breaking so they weren't holding. so the slide threads were out of spec, the screws were or they were simply the wrong ones.

If the LCI blew out, the damage would be centerline at the base of optic.

The pictures are grainy but the surface below optic looks like it has debri along the center channel from gun use.

My guess is thread walkout, the LCI on this gun is held in place by optic, so it went flying in the process.

Maybe the LCI flew off and jammed between optic hood and barrel kinda like a stovepipe… Brass could have stovepiped. Or optic was shot by second round??

Was it shooting with poor accuracy before this happened?

Check out Lurch MFG. He makes an LCI delete for the p365. It's easy to install and you won't have to worry about the spring loaded LCI shooting through your optic again

it was almost certainly the optic that shot through the LCI

I would assume they do but why would I lie about it 🧐
I'm not saying you're lying, but surely you're misunderstanding what happened or not
remembering correctly?

How can the optic come off without popping the head of the screw off and leaving the threaded portion in the slide? Why did you not locate the LCI or the screws?

Looks like those screws failed and optic broke on the way down. Airsoft optic not surprised by it grenading with the fall

Ok I can go with this if the lci is also secured by optic with no other means of retention BUT airsoft or not looks like he stomped that optic.

I almost wanna buy one and throw it onto the concrete as hard as I can to see what would actually happen.

What else could it be besides the optic hitting concrete? The slide is still intact. The optic is flat from hitting something flat and hard
