The lag in the past made it unusable and even now using the site to purchase is like staying in an abusive relationship. It’s not an eazy flow to look for things. My thought was over time people would discover us and use this setup since it’s easier, faster, more functional.

Still people use the horrible post to bump threads, a jimmy rigged feedback rating system, and lack of search functionality over the system here. 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s here if people want to use it, built by someone who’s in the community for the community to use. I’m waiting for feedback and I’ll continue to update the site as traffic or usage grows

Calguns website is still very slow…..grateful for this site and Calguns.Org since it still allows me to post stuff for sale and stay connected with the 2A community…..do hope that the site continues to get better 🤙🏽

Was working earlier. Noticed in several threads, there are blank posts scattered through them. This morning I had 5 tabs showing 504 Gateway timed out. It is not fixed.
 
CGs ran well for the past 37 minutes and then the famous "Gateway" error bumped me. Time of day/night have nothing to do with 'slowness' or 'gateway issues in my opinion. As I mentioned over there, I usually sign on between 0230hrs and 0300hrs and I get the same errors as I do at 1400 or 1630hrs.

I'm now watching with amused ambivalence. What I find interesting is that the worse that other site is running, the greater the traffic here. When the other site briefly came back online, the traffic here seemed to degrease. At least that seems to be the case from my unscientific subjectively biased observation.

Traffic here has plateaued but we are growing since they’ve come back online, which was expected. Surprisingly hasn’t gone down which it did in the past. We’re at about ~1k active members daily which is a ~3x improvement. We’re gearing up as people’s patience get really tested. Were improving search and adding a suggestion for common calibers as a search field next. We’ve moved a few things around too and cleaned up in other areas. There’s more to come.

There’s a hold out of people that think the site is actively being worked on. Sadly that’s doesn’t look like the case. Yet.

We all know someone who’s going through a bad relationship. Going back thinking things will be different only to be disappointed. 😭🫠 we’re here for you. It will change but only when they are ready to change.

I got on this afternoon and it seemed to flow fine for about 10-15 minutes then nothing..

That ship has sailed for many. If this site will host an “off topic” section, there is really no need to bother with going back to something that has been plagued with problems for a long time. YMMV.

I have been trying to get back on calguns, forgot my password, and the site does not return an email to log back on. Think I will just use this site now, no use going back.
