Like if we're going to get into hypothetical prosecutor arguments, then wouldn't specifically seeking out and paying a premium on an off-roster version of a gun available on the roster (Like a Sig P365) in order to avoid the safety features give the prosecutor something to question as well? Like we can do this all day if we're just going to post legal jeopardy without evidence.

Going to the range on the regular and practicing has the same logic as the red dot claim... "he was practicing to be more lethal". It's also why the idiot Sheriff in CCO had to pull back from their restrictions. Dumb argument. It's also why a CCW should ALWAYS be coupled with insurance and a card you carry in your wallet that tells you what to do.

Solano county. One of the more pro 2A counties.

I’ve had my CCW from Solano for 8 years. They give you a print out of limits with your renewal. The old cards had them printed on the back. Not everything is on the internet.

No internal parts changed except OEM parts. No carrying in establishments whose primary purpose is to serve alcohol. No carrying unless your BA is zero. No removal of safety features. If you get into trouble with the law for any reason, you need to notify the IA immediately. It’s a laundry list of things that if violated forfeit your CCW immediately. I did talk to the old sheriff about changing the P365 to a Wilson Combat XL grip model , new XL slide and barrel. He didn’t care.

I put a CZ85 trigger on my P-01 since the CGW is not allowed. Doesn’t pinch my finger Grips and sights changes are fine , but internal parts swaps have to be OEM. It was 100% stock for the first 10k rounds.

I put a Glock OEM minus disconnector on my G19 , G34 extended slide release and mag release. That’s it. Just shoot them and compete with everything you carry.

And here I thought Solano county was Pro-2A

They allowed us CCW years before any of the surrounding counties did with none of the restrictions those counties imposed.
I got my CCW in 2018. I still don’t have as many restrictions as the surrounding counties.

The Sheriff also gave us the ok in writing after Freedom Week to carry standard cap magazines which I did for 7 years.

If you compete from concealment and take classes from concealment, a mag disconnect is embarrassing. “If you’re finished, unload and clear . If clear, hammer down. Holster.” IYKYK.

Ya this. Be careful with modifying safety features.

Mas Ayoob has a few videos describing cases where an otherwise cut-and-dried self-defense legal defense collapsed under the speculation from these kinds of changes. One a LEO that modified their trigger and that was enough doubt for the jury. Another guy hand loaded his hollow points so prosecutors weaponized that against him and the jury bought it.

One time in the 80's where it was a political charge against the cop and the charges went nowhere? I guess if I'm a cop in the 80's I'll worry about a hair trigger revolver.
