GLocks and CZs are over rated.

also this is an extremely retarded example/analogy if you use your brain for a few seconds, the technology gains in a new car are massive over a 21 year old car, while a 1911 made 50 years ago is the same as one made today. Sorry, but think critically instead of just making dumb comments.

A better analogy would be paying $100,000 for a 2005 Porsche 911 base model (5k Nighthawk) while the other guy pays $35,000 for a 2026 Porsche 911 GT3 RS ($800 HK). Then, claim it is an heirloom. LOL.
I mean you are over here saying a Rock Island made by slaves in the Philippines is not only the same thing, but actually better than a hand fit work of art made by an American being paid an actual living. I will probably never buy a Nighhawk but I can appreciate the craftsmanship.

Oddly enough, the last few Rock Islands I've owned had suprisingly very good fitment of parts. Almost a seamless blending of the rear of the slide/extractor/ejector. In terms of fit, it absolutely blows away my 70s Colt Commander. That being said, the old fuddlore rumor that "they're built on old Colt tooling" is utter nonsense. Yes, after WWII that may have been the case, but they aint building guns on 80 year old tooling anymore, nor have they been for several decades. And there's nothing wrong with that, they build fine guns for the money. All that being said, they still don't even remotely compare to anything like a Nighthawk, or even something like a Springfield TRP.

Yeah they're fine for what they are. They just are what they are. Like I said in another comment if we could buy some of their more interesting guns I would probably have a couple.

This is an argument of a Seiko vs. a Rolex.

One has a tremendous amount of marketing and artificial scarcity behind it, with a history of quality craftsmanship. If you like that sort of thing, and the cultural heft it provides, get your Skydweller on your way to Patek and Audemars Piguet and so on.

The other also tells time. Many love them. They are not fancy mechanical marvels. But they perform the same function without the cultural heft.

I have bought Nighthawks and Glocks. I like them for what they are, and I can’t outshoot my VP9F with my Nighthawk.

So everyone is right. And an American. You can love your Glock or your Atlas. You can love your Shadow 2. Awesome. That doesn’t make my gun less great. Unless it’s a Kahr. Hate them.

Also. Don’t ask me about watches.

That is absolutely understandable. But what we see mostly on here is people will take a BNIB Gen 5/6 Glock 45/17/19 and ask for $1500-$1800 no optics, no holster, just the box and papers it came with.
People are buying them tho. Cuz its just hard to get. Might not be what its worth outside of cali. But the more ur hung up on the “price gougin” the less fun u have. Just pay to play. Or wait for a deal. We live in cali and we just gotta deal. Thats being said.

I have a unfired gen 6 glock 45 i might let go of😂😂 u know the deal. Forget yall pay me. 2000 i know what i got😂😂 jk. Havent decided yet. I think im gunna love my g47 more

Lol, well when you decide to sell, I will gladly offer you $800 and a slightly soft handshake with long eye contact...

Me too, I don’t claim polymer guns max price is $279 and whatever nonsense he said lmao. That’s so much like the boomer two world wars joke it feels like rage bait

I’ll see what my friend at armscor Philippines says about the boomer rumors

After holding and shooting a CZ P10F and comparing it to a G17, CZ was a no brainer for me. The ergos just felt great for my hands and getting a brass backstrap just made it even better 🤌
I agree. For me cz P10 series along with Walther PDPs are best striker fired guns on the market today. HK don't touch them for me.

I saw an awful lot of $5k+ guns malfunctioning like crazy at the USPSA match I shot at today…. Glocks all seemed fine, my SP-01 was fine. Huh

Have you ever shot a match when everything was muddy as hell? The Limited Optics, Open, and other high-end-gun crowd were trying so hard not to drop their mags in the mud. Meanwhile, the Glock shooters, myself included, couldn’t have cared less and were dumping magazines all over the place like it was nothing.

I did shoot my intro to USPSA class in the rain with my G19 and my first match in the rain/mud with my 75BD and didn’t care about dropping mags in the mud. Actually today with my SP-01 was a little worse in the dry dust/gravel as I got some fine grit in a mag that was new and had too much oil in it from shipping (should have wiped it down first) and it just made the follower a bit sticky. Still worked ok though.

I mean ultimately guns are just some machined parts slapped together. I highly doubt HK workers are "unskilled". The Nighthawk looks nice but won't really outperform a $450 RIA 1911 at the end of the day by a meaningful amount

I cannot believe that came out of your mouth.

You lack reading comprehension and are unable to understand inference.

You know as well as I do that polymer is extremely cheap to produce. It has some nice advantages in weight and flex under recoil but is ultimately a cost saving measure. It is suitable for mass production of cheap guns that work well enough without much human manufacturing skill.

Cost cutting is the name of the game nowadays. That's why we have MIM parts, loose tolerances, crappy Cerakote finishes on everything, and zero hand work. It's not about making a "better" product, it's about making the cheapest product possible that's "good enough" people will buy. If weight savings were the only goal, they'd be using machined aluminum, not polymer.

I haven't been around here long enough to know - were off roster Glock prices so high before the California Glock ban?

I just dropped a chunk on a NIB 20 gen 5 I'm building for woods because (1) can't buy a gen 3 anymore from LGS, (2) even used gen 3s are being sold from 900-1100, (3) 10mm alternatives are limited in CA.

Without the Glock ban I would have happily bought a gen 3 from the LGS (though after taxes it still would have run $850+). But now the difference between a gen 3 and gen 5 wasn't so much. Might just be a temporary thing.

Nah just pointing out how the "$279 tupperware guns" absolutely dunk on the overpriced 1911. QC issues when for the 1-2k range you can get a Sig 1911 that out performs it with better quality control

Once again, you said something stupid. Unless you work at the factory, you have no idea what the QC process is for a particular firearm. Additionally, 1911 pistols are not made the same as 50+ years ago. Current methods are not even close.

You can spend $399 (normal prices; not CA stoopid pricing) on a foreign made production 1911 or $15,000+ for one made by Burton. The difference the labor, skill, etc. At some point, it turns into a luxury item. You should be able to understand these concepts.

By all means, enjoy your RIA, Tisas, etc. There is nothing wrong with doing so. I like to take a beater gun out and run it hard too.

I have noticed as I age, I value quality over quantity. I talked about craftsmanship because I want the best I can get for any particular price. Choosing a Nighthawk means I want significant gunsmith time put into my gun. I do not get that with a RIA, SIG or even Colt (Colt is currently a mess). There is certainly none of that in a polymer pistol where the engineering supercedes manual labor. Buying a polymer pistol means I want a disposable tool. Since you lack comprehension skills, this means I do not care if it gets damaged in a fight, muffed up in training or confiscated as evidence.
