Honestly I have no idea what point you are trying to make, 80% of Ca water and especially Colorado river water goes to agriculture and not cities. You really don't have a clue about any of these topics. They literally are doing desalinization.
yeah, and the California National Guard should have to be limited to roster firearms and 10rd mags, even while deployed to combat zones. If we can't have them, then the military can't have them. Someone needs to notify China and Russia that they need to only use rostered firearms and 10rd mags as well so that the playing field is leveled. Can we limit our tanks to only 10 rounds, too?
umm no. there is the electricity aspect that you seem to be clueless about. also yes SOME of that water goes to agriculture and then to the L.A aqueduct. strange that you are also clueless about that also. anyways, my point is that all that so callled regualtion that you speak of did not do anything since california is still running out of water. actaully look up the desalination that california is doing. It does not cover much of anything, it is only a very small percent that is being done, and it is only for part of a city. it is not an EPA mandate like I mentioned it should be. and again, california is still running out of water and power

government employees don't get raises for performance but I don't disagree that it seems premature to jump straight to banning them. The EU has has efficiency regulations on tires for almost 20 years but they haven't banned them as far as I know. But all of the potential "negatives" that people list like longevity or traction don't bear out in the current LRR tires, they have 65k warranties and good traction ratings if they are made right. This has been a thing for a long time for big rig tires and those tires need to perform well and last a long time so I'm not sure if we need to worry about it. We will see.
lol what? I'm intimately familiar with the colorado river water rights and it goes to the imperial valley where 80% of it is used for agriculture before any cities get to use it. The entire allocation from the Colorado river for Ca is a maximum of 4.4 million acre ft. In total, Ca uses about 40 million acre ft of water per year, only 8 million acre ft goes to cites for domestic use and the rest goes to agriculture. The cities aren't running out of water, it's agriculture that runs out of water but the allocation is complex because it's based on water rights, water rights are property rights so many farms have dibs before cities. But Cities do get some preferential treatment, in low water years cities will get water when ag is cut off because people literally need it. Anyway, lots of people support desal and if you want the state to pay for that you should ask them to, you will have to convince voters to pay for it though through a bond or sales tax. But I support public utilities like SMUD, they tend to be cheaper. It's not as simple as it sounds though because salt is a waste product, even if it's dumped into the ocean it can cause problems. But I do think that desal is the only long term option, but conservation goes a long way along with that. If we actually were in trouble we could allocate more water away from agriculture, but we aren't even close to running out of water to run our cities even wth 35 million people as it's only 20% of the total water usage in the state.
oh. okay so some of it does go to the cities like i mentioned? i already know about the water rights from back then. i was involved with this in las vegas in 2007. i am not asking for the city to pay for it. pay attention here i specficially said make it a mandate. if california was serious about its regualtions specifically with the water the answer would not be more regulations and taxes, it would be change the water supply of california. does that make sense to you? and as for 'SMUD' i would actually look into it. it is not cheaper, you are being double charged and do not even realize it. and salt is not a waste product it is a usable product called salt for anything. basic NaCl and it is actually sold to companies. imagine that.
Tpms and abs lights won't affect smog failures. Only check engine light will9. I have Low Tire Pressure light on. Will that fail my smog test?
No. The only light that causes an automatic fail for California Smog Test is the Check Engine light.

Who’s doing desalinization? I’m all for that, because I’ve seen the environmental destruction of the Owens Valley that the LADWP dried up a hundred years ago. Population near the ocean should get their water from the ocean, not by destroying other places.
It's definitely being worked on, like I said it's tricky and still fairly expensive but it's definitely something we should be doing. And yes, agriculture is extremely important. There are some debates about which crops are in our best interest though, for instance the bulk of that imperial valley water from the Colorado is growing alfalfa which is then sold to foreign interests and exported. And that the exact moment where the "free market" fails to account for our domestic interests and why some regulations can be useful.
