FN Five-seveN. Found one in ODG (my favorite). Even got a 5.7 AR upper that took FN90 mags to go with it.

I couldn’t hit the side of a barn from the inside with that damn pistol, haha!! Sold it right after the range day.

How? They have adjustable sights! I can dump a whole mag into the A zone at 15 yds with reasonably rapid fire.

Max9. Didn’t like that the trigger would “catch” with side tension. Also slide finish is awful.

I was concerned about the trigger but there is a fix for it on you tube. It shouldn't need a fix but its a sub $400 pistol that holds 10+1. We have a surplus of those now but I bought a LC380 with a 9mm slide back when sub compacts were thon on the roster that I've caried for a few years. My MAX 9 does not have the trigger issue. Maybe some do and some don't or they found a remedy for it.

I can't say it was a massive disappointment but I really wanted an HK USP 9 for years and got one. I Just didn't like it, the size and ergos just didn't work for me. Sold it not too long after I got it.

If you don’t like the snap of the 43x you won’t like the P365 because it has more snap. I own both.

I bought a Colt M4 about ten years ago. It wasn't bad but not as good as it cost.

Every one of my builds beat it. So I sold it.

One I like I can't really shoot anymore. GSG 1911 .22LR. Got it for just over 200 bucks from Turners. Ran great for a few years before the barrel slug flew off in the desert. I've tried for years to get that part but those Germans don't like the service industry.

Agreed - I tried my buddy's P365 and it was slightly better than my G43x but it didn't win me over to go out and buy one.

Ended up getting a Hellcat Pro OSP which IMO is probably the best slim frame for me...

Been there, done that. Not all of them I've bought/sold - some of I just tried out and was let down by.

I can't hit the broad sign of a barn with a Beretta 92 series or Sig P226/229/220. It's 100% me. I think it's either the sight picture, the bore axis, or the grip, or a combination of the three for me. Any other semi-auto pistol i can get decent groups with on the 1st try. Not those.

Walther PPK - awful trigger, not great sights. Lots of recoil for a small/heavy pistol.

Browning BDM - I found one used in a shop and loved the way it felt in my hand. Impulse bought it - shop would not allow a test firing on their range. Found out it printed 3-4" high at 15 yards, and a range instructor confirmed that it wasn't me. Turns out it was set up from the factory for a 6-o'clock hold, and all my guns are center hold. NO aftermarket parts available of any kind (trigger parts/sights was all I wanted), wasn't able to find a local gunsmith to make me a new front sight. Sold it, broke even. Kinda bummed about that one.

GSG 1911-22. Point of aim shifted after every takedown/reassembly. Accurizing kits/parts would cause failures to cycle or go into battery. I wasn't down to spend 200% the cost of the pistol on accurizing it, so I sold it. Shame too bc with CCI Mini Mags it ran fine but less accurate than was acceptable to me.

Thompson is one of my bucket list guns also, but only for the cool factor. They really are horrible handling guns. If the weight is the only thing discouraging you, they do make an aluminum frame model that is quite a bit lighter. You can have a gun that handles terrible, but weighs much less!

When my Dad was in Vietnam, his squad found a decent-sized VC weapons cache on the edge of a village with several WWII era Tommy guns in it. He tried one that was in decent shape on an abandoned vehicle, and at 20 yards he said it patterned worse than a blunderbuss.

Almost purchased a 43x last year, every time one pops up for sale, I still want it.. but I remember shooting it and I hated it, it was just like my g26.4, super snappy.

I've even gone as far as researching how to acquire a G48 upper and slapping it on the G43x. After seeing the exorbitant price tag for just a slide + barrel just to "try" (and no guarantees that the longer slide will help with the snappy-ness) to correct the issue, I gave up.

Now it's the wife's bedside gun...

The new repro auto ordnance ones aren't great either. Its my addition to this thread. I have one and it not nice. My neighbor has one from the 80s. His is SO much better. Mine has feeding problems and snapped a firing pins. apparently this is common.. When it works, its a fun gun but its rare that it goes through 2 mags without a feed failure.

I have a 1934 Beretta that will pinch the webbing between my thumb and index finger and give me a nasty blood blister if I'm not careful with my grip. But I’ll never get rid of it because it was my father’s gun during his time in France during WWII.

I had a Kahr CW9 many many years ago. Magazines were hard to load, feed slips were sharp and would hurt your thump. Recoil spring was terribly stiff. The trigger pull and reset were longer than they needed to be for a striker fired pistol. The positive side was it was slim, light and easy to conceal. I’m sure it helped pave the way for other single stack 9mm followed by the wave of micro 9 double stacks.

It shot fine but I swear the ejector was out to get me. Every other piece of brass hit me the face, forehead, shoulder, etc. Honestly, I shot the G22 better anyway. Some say it was my sloppy grip but the G22 was fine every time I shot it. Long live the G22.

Not me, but when a buddy of mine first got into guns, he bought two: an XD9 and Sig SP2022. He proceeds to tell me “they are Glock killers”
He traded in his SP2022 because it was so bad and unreliable (did not cycle most ammo)
He still has his XD9 and swears by it, but it’s the crappiest gun I’ve ever shot (next to the SP2022 and Ruger Max9) and the first time he shot my Glock, he said only better because “I have a lot of upgrades” but I only have upgraded the trigger to a timney with a ported slide and barrel… he has an aftermarket trigger for his XD9 from a no name company and it doesn’t even compare

That's crazy to me. My second ever gun was the SP2022 and to this day I LOVE it. Always reliable and dead on accurate. My first gun was an XD45, because it was supposed to be a "glock killer" and I don't think I've touched it in 10 years at least. Probably don't have any .45 seeds for it either, lol.

I still have my CW9…..but ….. It shoots well, it’s well built , …but I just can’t shoot it without bleeding unless I have a glove on , tape my trigger finger, or change my grip.. For me the trigger guard is to small or it’s the shape but my trigger finger drags on it . ….

Kriss Vector - I lusted after this gun for a while but when I got one.....less so. Very stiff charging for PCC, doesn't like a variety of ammo, will only feed reliably off Glock mags ( doesn't like aftermarkets like Magpul,) has a tendency to drop mags if you grab it from the front under stress without a vertical grip. Just to name a few I recall. Probably didn't help that I got a Scorpion Evo 3 shortly there after , and everything about that gun is easy, reliable and almost as fun as a suppressed MP5.

Sounds as if you could use a small grinder to smooth out the rough/sharp areas.

I did that with both of my Glocks. The thingy in the face of the trigger was sticking out too far when fully depressed and irritating my finger. So I held it in the most rearward position and ground it down so it was flush with the trigger itself. Now it no longer irritates my finger and it still works perfectly.
