The baby Glock 42 .380 I was so pleased to have made the purchase a few years ago. My son in-law also got one. We went out to shoot them one day and what a disappointment. Could not hit anything more than 20 feet away, nothing! We both got rid of them. I realize that they are for close range but geez.

I had a smith compact 9mm back in the day- sw9M? Little single stack pocket 9. One of the first.
It was terrible.. constant light strikes. I sent it back to s&w twice, then dumped it on consignment.

I fired an AMT automag II.. it shot well. Works well with loads it likes. But it doesn't do anything the pmr30 doesn't do better, at 3x the capacity.

It can be done but it’s a bit of a pain. Involves stripping the gun down pretty far to switch out the CA disassembly safety, which has a small curled lip at the top that locks the trigger bar without a mag inserted. But once a non-CA disassembly safety is swapped in, the trigger can be dry fired freely without a mag.

Keltec KSG - was way cool when they were first released. Turned out to be awkward & unreliable. I traded it to a guy with the AZ Rangers. He hated it and sold it.

#1 Thompson M1 (Tommy gun). Trigger is horrible, it weighs more than most AR10s, and almost impossible to lock the bolt back manually without getting a spring kit, and ergos are just terrible.

#2 DSAL FAL - Again, horrible heavy trigger, heavy as heck, ergos stink, and (maybe just mine) inaccurate for a 308 rifle. It also has a tendency to chew up my 308 brass, regardless of how I adjust the gas block.

Having said, I probably will still keep the top 2 as collectibles and things to show to friends at the range.

Springfield XD Subcompact in 9mm.

Called it Lego and it was one thick block to conceal at times. Thankfully, someone wanted it quick later down the road when I decided to get rid of it.

For me it wasn’t a firearm, it was a trigger config. I got a HK P2000 DA/SA on sale but I kept reading that the LEM version was god’s gift to man so I pick one up and it was a let down. So I do some more reading and the guys on all the forums say that the “true” LEM experience is the lighter version so I go and order and install the springs and it still sucks. I love the P2000 and it’s a tragedy it’s on its way out now but LEM is just… wrong. Maybe I am too used to DA/SA, after all all my other handguns are revolvers and a CZ 75.

Had MULTIPLE full-rail TRPs that were jam-o-matics. Sent one back to Springfield and it jammed again on the first mag after it was "repaired". Sold them right after. Took me a while to trust Springfield but my Hellcat Pro has been great. Next one was an older STI (before Staccato), .40 S&W. Most unpleasant gun I've ever shot. Back of the grip and around the safety rubbed me raw. And before you say it, no I'm not a 1911/2011 or .40 S&W hater. Have a Dan Wesson in .45 that I love and still love the couple of .40 cal Glocks I have, including a 27.

That hasn't been my experience. You have to rack the slide like you mean it though. Its like my .410 upper for AR where the length of the shells aren't SAAMI spec'd and some are longer than others. It cycles them fine but will only fit 6 in the tubes if longer than actual 2-3/4".

In about 1999 I think I wanted to be super cool and buy my first ever off duty gun and I saved and paid a decent chunk of change (at the time) for a Para Ordnance P-13. At the same time a coworker paid about 40% less than I did for an sig P220 surplus pistol. The P13 was heavy and rattled like a jar full of bolts and shot 6” groups at 15 yards. We both switched back and forth at the range and that 220 printed tiny groups, both agreed he made the much better call.

Gen 1 Platypus's grip texture is way too slippery. Gen 2, with the prickle grip, resolved that issue.

CZ Customs Bull Shadow.

I had a cz Sp01, didn't want to pay the off roster markup for a shadow2 and decided to buy the Bull shadow upper from czc to make my own Shadow2-esque gun. I was hyped when it came in.
It would fail to feed at least once every 10 rounds with 135 power factor ammo. On a heavier spring it would fail to eject. I had to polish the feed ramp and reshape the ejector to make it work. then the super-thin blue finish started to RUST, which i ended up cerakoting to fix.
Gun works now, doesn't really shoot better than the SP01, and was waaaaay too much work to fix.
CzC makes great cz parts... but their guns I would think twice about.

Vz 52/57. Very cool and unique, side folding bayonet but its kinda weak and awkward when deployed. As heavy as an M1A, but chambered in 762x39. Flawed firing pin design. The sks is a much more durable and lighter rifle with as many spare parts available as you would every need. Rarity equated to value but it just wasn't a keeper. Proper mags, when you could find them often go for over 200 on GB. Cool gun to try, and glad I did but sold it for a Russian sks with beautiful striped wood.

These failures are wild to hear about considering the prices people list these for in the classifieds.
