I think the biggest difference between him and the other folks on YouTube that do gear reviews is that he isn't beholden to anyone. As far as I know, he has absolutely no sponsors, and he does very well for himself. He's one of the few people that is in a position where he can be completely honest about something without much backlash. Since he's one of the best shooters out there, people are inclined to listen to what he says. I think what comes across as being pessimistic is actually just honesty that people are no longer used to when seeing with a product review. When is the last time that you saw Gavin at Ultimate Reloader say anything negative about a product?

He's not sponsored by anyone and doesn't rely on social media to make his money. How many people you follow on social media can say the same? Maybe that's why all the other guys act one way but he acts another.

People who shoot tens of thousands of rounds a year will have different opinions on equipment when most people shoot hundreds or thousands of rounds a year.

I think too many people are used to listening to decades worth of print media and now social media shills who are beholden to advertisers, affiliate links or sponsored content not used to hearing the unvarnished truth from a guy who doesn't care what bridges he burns because he makes his money training private citizens, law enforcement departments and military units all over the world and selling books.

It was after one of his training and he was sin his hotel he was just moaning about the dot brightness in the Texas sun or something like that at the hour of the morning and he was struggling to acquire the dot.

Im all for honestly but if I have a problem with a product im not going to use it further. Yes berated the product says he hates it but then you still seem him using it. So im jist looking at him thinking I thought you said the product was and your were going back to the SRO?

You just said it. He was in his hotel (away from home) teaching a class and probably didn’t bring tons of with him on the road so he is stuck running what he has.

Maybe he had a conversation with somebody and found out it was a settings issue. Got it squared away and there ya have it. Specifically with Holosun I've had brightness issue conversations with lots of customers.
Maybe he didnt have a suitable replacement.

I own a Prodigy, and right from the start, I had issues with its safety. One day, one got stuck and it then boom the safety just flew off, lol. Now, fast forward to today, I noticed that my rear iron sights moved slightly to the left. It’s also been having issues keeping the slide open when I’m out of bullets, but so far, I enjoy it.

Soo much unnecessary shade thrown on the prodigy and I honestly dont know why. Mine runs great as does 3 of my buddies. They run them as their primary LO weapons and have zero issues. Enjoy it is a very flat shooting pistol.

Most of the complaints are simple break-in issues that can be taken care of in about 30 minutes. If you want actual hand-fitting by a gun builder at the production facility, you’re going to be paying a lot more for your 2011.

Absolutely, ppl want a 6500k gun for $2k and get pissed when it's not. I spent about $250 in upgrades and about 45mins to an hr of my time and it runs like a champ.
