haha well as long as they also put out non-comped versions I don't really care, people can shoot what they like. But it is weird that Sig for instance put out a double stack 1911 with a comp before the non-comped ones because competition-wise the non comped ones are more popular so they could have had free advertising from competitors.

But it got exposure by a lot of influencers. I do think a lot of folks like the aesthetics of comps so that can be a draw for non-competition shooters. When I take people to the static range they’re always most interested in comped my pistols.

And the GT4/5 are released just 6 months later so

Personally, I’m going to start shooting some of my USPSA and Steel Challenge matches in open minor. I’ll shoot production, limited and open (factory comp + optics) skipping LO/CO altogether. It’s also pretty cool that PCSL pistol divisions don’t exclude or push them as I’m just getting into that.

at the beginning it wont matter, but you may find that when you get a little better you will want to raise your classification because it's an objective milestone that you can work towards. But Open, because of major scoring more than anything else, has super high classifier scores. I do like the PCSL divisions much more than USPSA, like does it have a comp or does it not, and having a specific round limit vs. a magazine length.

We will probably get a GT3 for CCW as well using P320C mags

If you asked me years ago I’d say yuck to a series 80 but after shooting a P4 I don’t mind it at all. More options more better.

I think the series 70 vs 80 issue gets so overblown. The HD triggers are pretty damn nice, but too many folks get wrapped up comparing these and similar triggers to what you find in the higher end hand-fit DS 1911s, and that’s just an entirely different animal bred for a different purpose.

Yeah the HD trigger is awesome and you can make it lighter if you really want to.
