Staccato coming to Ca.

It's hard to drop that on one firearm....I've opted to just buy more rather than the one and it's worked out for me so far. Wouldn't mind picking up a 2011 at some point though.
no no!! wrong way.. I sold all the little ones and random ones to get just a couple 2011's.. Once you shoot those, everything else isn't worth the material its made of.

I mean these are the definition of the last 10% of performance costs 2x more.....but.....sexy

im guessing staccato didnt have to do much to get on the roster other than submit their guns and pay their money. the external extractor they use is VERY VP9/HK esque. paint the top red and presto, LCI. im pretty sure they come with a mag disconnect (based off of 80 series 1911 and pretty sure the only ones I've fondled had mag disconnect). and they have external safeties. they may not actually cost any different. maybe a surcharge just cuz, but...I'm guessing the only real "design change" they have to do is paint the top of the extractor red and put some writing on the side around it.

100% Agree! I’ve sole off 90% of my pistols in favor of a limited amount of nice 2011s and 1911s. I’ll never go back

The around 500 dollar (in free states) VP9 became the $900+ "on-roster" VP9, plus tax, plus more tax.

For those keeping score at home, a lot of off-roster VP9's (without lci's, mag disconnects, etc) were hovering around a grand last year.

Again, sorry for being "that guy", and I'm sure dealers are F-ing hating people like me right now

More like $1200. I'll pay $900 for a German pistol all day long!! 😁

I think the good thing about this is that we can own an on roster 2011 and not be afraid of it becoming a 4k paper weight if it breaks. We can ship out a 2011 for warranty work and not be afraid they won’t transfer it back to us.

This is not the case. You can legal send an Ca off list pistol for repair to any state and the company that repairs the pistol can legally send it back to California. As long as it's a repair and not a sale. Otherwise people that legally obtained a pistol pre-Ca roster list would be stuck with paper weights. You have to inform the repair shop as they assume what you are assuming.

Are these Staccoatos worth all the hype? Not familiar but live the way they look.. Will I pay $5k for one, is it that much better than a $1k Sig for instance?
I'm not hating on Staccato at all but I tried one while in TX and didn't find it that much superior, at least (to be fair) at a range. I also toured their factory and since each gun is hand-fitted (they said one of their differentiators was having the same parts available in different tolerances so they could tune each gun) it sounded like it wasn't easy to replace parts; my understanding is that you have to send it back to Staccato in a lot of cases. That said, they look and feel really nice.

Has anyone heard an ETA for the California compliant HD P4? And has anyone been able to confirm whether or not an HD P4.5 will be coming our way after its release this spring?

ammo bros and 2a zone in socal will probably be the first to know/have 'em if I was to guess

Evans gun world in OC is taking pre orders apparently

Hopefully this softens up these greedy people trying to gouge fellow firearms enthusiast. I get it one has to make a profit. But more than doubling the price is wrong.
Well... that's the capitalist way... and the good thing is... your not forced to buy anything at a perceived gouging price.. and the opposite needs to be looked at as well when your selling something at a fair price and lowballers make you a ridiculous low offer...

I talked to someone who spoke to them at SHOT and they said 2 years.

I'm a skeptical of this time frame because CA might come up with some BS to make roster additions more difficult. I would think it's in Staccato's best interest to get the gun on roster now while they know the rules even if that means limiting CA production for the initial years and focusing on LE contracts first.

2 years is a crazy time frame, so I took it with a grain of salt...but according to who I talked to, that info was directly from a Staccato rep.

I’m not sure if they said they would, I believe it was more like a “we will look into it,” but it would be cool.
