All great thoughts thanks for the engagement everyone. So that still has me wondering. If magnification/LPVO actually needed in a suburban/urban environment?

It really depends on your situation. How many neighbors you have and structures and buildings in your area. If you have some random dude up in an upper floor of an appointment building popping shots in your direction, a scope or magnified optics can be very helpful in removing said threat. A good LPVO or scope can also double as a monocular removing the need for having to carry a set of binoculars. Less weight.

Even people living in less dense areas probably would want a scope as threats are likely going to be further out. In fact, a hunting rifle is probably going to be the biggest threat to you if you survive the initial attack

I mean, they may also have Nuclear, Biological & Chemical weapons. They may have hi-tech hacking capabilities to shut down our infrastructure. They may launch an EMP to fry everything that needs a computer to operate. Maybe they'll clone our loved ones and torture the clones, but we'll think is the real ones. Perhaps they'll just come door-to-door to kick our dogs...

If the Russian/Chinese army is actually land invading the USA then the entire country has basically already been lost. lol. Nothing left to fight for at that point. it's a fantasy

Did you ever happen to see that older video of the Israeli military sniping terrorists in the street with a Ruger 10/22? A shot to the thigh or the knee and these clowns dropped everything they were doing and limped away like a dog with a hurt paw

Shawn Ryan had a sniper (Ranger i think) on his show that said in the early days of OIF, his rounds weren't dropping people when he'd hit their chest; the bullet would go through and the person would run away. He tried shooting them in the pelvis and learned that without an intact pelvis a person can't stand or walk or run. So he started doing that.

Remind me to never be shot in the pelvis.

Lol, just like playing Escape from Tarkov. Common strategy when someone is far away and moving is to take out a leg, then they are an easy target to finish off since they can't run.

I just have a Sub2000. The linear comp is from Law Valley Precision. I got a lot of other accessories.

Now I try to get higher quality firearms first thing since I end up spending a lot on accessories.

Never saw it, link? Usually their videos are sniping journalists in the head or launching missiles at apartment complexes
