It's funny how many people know about this place. The first time I went I thought "NO WAY. Is my gun even going to be here in 10 days?" It's in this guy's parents garage. In the middle of my PPT his mom walks in with a sandwich and chips on a plate for him.

Yep, that’s part of the charm. What you see is what you get. Just a straight up good dude and family.

This is not correct. I did not support it at all. How long ago was that?

It started in 1991.
There was some firearms dealers trade group that supported it.
I believe the group was mostly made up of the big chain box stores.
Back then, Fedco, Kmart, Big5 and almost every other sporting goods chain sold guns.

Can say Elite Armory also does ppt for $47.19 and you can just walk in unless you have I believe more than 2 guns to opt then you need an appointment.

I think its 3 or more. I did a ppt with 3 at 5pm and it was no problem

Under California law, gun shops are restricted on how much they can charge for doing a private party transfer. If they do it right it should come out to $47.19. But I've gone into shops that make me buy a lock, charge for credit card use, charge for storage (this hasn't happened to me but to someone else), or some other charge. I know under the REVIEWS tab we have a list of FFL's that we like. But I'm talking just by price, which FFL's do you know of charge $47.19 for a PPT? You can throw in some bad one's to avoid if you'd like.

I did an FFL transfer there once and they also charge $100 for that. Albeit is was my only transaction with them, it went alright but that little Asian dude there is kind of a .

If the PPT fee is also $100 then that’s a real damn shame.

I know of a shop that requires a doj approved cable lock purchased from within the last 30 days regardless of if it’s ppt or buying from their shop inventory; it’s a city ordinance. You are required to purchase a doj approved lock from them or show a receipt from within the last 30 days; for shop inventory it’s only if the firearm doesn’t come with a lock which would be used. Even if you buy a new firearm that has a lock but choose to buy a used one from them or ppt; that one lock from the new shop inventory firearm doesn’t count towards it. It’s not the shop that wants to do it; it’s just their local city requires it. For me, it’s like what the fudge is this because I don’t even live over there and also because I already have 7 of those kinds of cable locks at home that I don’t even use.

I’ve been to a couple shops where it’s $47.?? for the total of ppt; however since it’s not their inventory they will charge per day after the 10th/11th day, unless you buy one of their shop inventory guns on the same dros. These shops are usually high volume shops that do a lot of transactions whether it be ppt, incoming, and store inventory; they don’t have the space for someone to just letting it sit there.

However, I’ve been to other shops that don’t care even if you don’t buy their guns; they dont charge or require anything else for ppt’s; no storage fees after 10 days. They just see it as hoping to get more exposure to their shop; maybe this one will buy some cleaning/oiling supplies, ammo, or come back another day or spread the word.

I always make a point to make a purchase, even if it's just some cleaning stuff or a magazine, just to show some appreciation.

Solar tactical, are you talking about Castro valley or Livermore? Livermore requires the doj approved lock purchased within the last 30 days with receipt or purchase one from them.
